wow this price can't be right lol wow. if your looking for an OUTDOOR watch in this price range by golly you need to be looking at an aimbit 3, or a fenix 3. this is CRAZY money for what your getting. hell even aimbit 2 or fenix 2 give you much more than this watch. and if its casio you want they have MANY models costing less than this asking price that have all the same features. don't waste your money.

Stone_MaNThis Casio is much nicer looking than Aimbit or Fenix. It's also water resistant to 200 meters, so it's suitable for diving. And it has a sapphire crystal which is virtually unscratchable.

ninetail@ninetail so you're saying it's worth the asking price? I had thought this price was a little outrageous as well.

WavesterI haven't handled this exact model. But I do own the MTG-S1000 which is twice the asking price of the GWG-1000, and it's a very nice watch. I think you are the one that have to decide if it's worth it or not.

Stone_MaNThis is a serious explorer watch, as opposed to the sunnto's which are sport watches at most. This is a watch for explorers, deployed personnel, arqueologists, and adventurers. People that might put the watch through hell. Sunnto's are great sport watches, but they're not as dependable or rugged as GShocks. Also as already mentioned, you can actually go diving with this one.

sprk1Don't get me wrong, theres nothing wrong with buying this watch if you are a gshock lover or collector. But there is no practical reason to spend this kind of money on an outdoor watch. If you need a dive watch, there are better suited watches for much less money. Archaeologists would have no use for any feature on this watch apart from the timekeeping. If you need to know elevation, you bring an altimiter, if you need to know the temp you bring a thermometer etc etc. These watch functions are like cameras on phones before smart phones. A useless feature meant to add face value. They are not accurate enough to be anything more.

bedpCan't say I disagree. I mean I wouldn't go diving with it, and personally cant justify 400/500 bucks on a GShock. On the other hand for people that dont want to carry altimeters, barometers, and thermometers that also want a a rugged timepiece can pretty much be worth it and more.

ninetailI do have this exact watch albeit the American market version and love it although I'm not an archeologist.... It's a very large, rugged analog watch with a few features that will be used for the first week or 2 after delivery. As to value if you are a collector or just someone that will pay a premium for a great product then yes it's worth every penny. If you just need a rugged watch and looks and features are of little importance scroll right past this one. As Ninetail stated you need to decide if it's worth it to you in YOUR situation.

Chowderhead72I love the GWG1000. I've had it for some time now. This watch is not about everything it cant do but it's about the "way" it does what it does. Some very very cool features. Consider it from Amazon warehouse for less than half the price. I got mine for 350 and think it's totally worth it.
