I was wondering what the best battery this kit could utilize. I just purchased the Traxxas Slash 4X4 drop that just ended from Massdrop. could it even use the power output of a 3s 50c battery or would a 3s 35c be fine? Also wondering about waterproofing the batteries etc. Whats your thoughts?

IBNetManHmm, I'd probably recommend sticking to 2s lipo with this combo. That aside, Castle doesn't publish their amp draw information, but depending on the mAh rating of your batteries, 35c should be fine, assuming it's around 5000mAh or higher - I'd be surprised if draw was greater than 5000mAh x 35c = 175amps. I've run this combo with a 2s 4100mAh 25c without issue, but that might be a bit on the weaker side.
As for waterproofing, haven't ever bothered myself, but I know people have used Plasti Dip/Silicon to help waterproof, or stick it in a balloon =P

KeroWould this be an upgrade to the "Traxxas Slash 4X4 1/10 4WD Brushless Truck RTR" that was sold by MassDrop? I joined this before doing the amount of research as i have now. With the research it seems the "Traxxas Slash 4X4 1/10 4WD Brushless Truck RTR" from MassDrop is part Slash Ultimate but with remote etc.

IBNetManThe 4x4 has the Velineon brushless system in it, which is pretty decent in its own right. That said, this is definitely a step-up over the stock system. You will notice the difference if you do a before and after comparison.
