My Cayin i5 stacked with a Chord Hugo 2 for big sound from a little player. Great combo!

BenzerkHow are u stacking it? Line out to Hugo? (Then is Cayin amp lacking?) Or Cayin as transport?(Mind if I ask, why not just use the phone in airplane mode?)

I don't think the i5 lacks power for portable headphones and the sound coming out of it is pretty good to my ears. I do however much prefer the sound of the Hugo and it drives big boy headphones very well.
I tried using the Hugo with Samsung S7, S8 and LG G6 and none of them have bit perfect OTG capability, their android sound driver is limited to 16/44. Although with a bit of tinkering I got the G6 to 24/96 it still was unreliable and limited to my needs, I haven't tried the V20/30 which I hear are much better. Anyways with the i5 I don't have any of these issues and can play any MQA file reliably, plus I also really like the UI.
