pal51961For an iPod to plug and play in a car, the car has to be compatible with it. Ia your car compatible with a Cayin? 1 and ! make 2, do the math.

Pmtski45 I don't get what you're saying my car works fine with my iPod will it work the same way with this unit is my question . So I guess what you're saying is if it works with the iPod it will work with this unit correct ?

pal51961Your car has iPod compatibility built in to the Stereo/infotainment system. That's why it works with it. This is a completely different piece of equipment and more than likely will have to be sync'ed up with the bluetooth and use the unit to control songs, or through the line out feature plugged direct to the stereo. Does your car work with any other device? If so, you might get lucky.

Pmtski45 I have never tried it with any other device except my iPhone through the Bluetooth and of course that works seamlessly I think it would probably work through the Bluetooth if nothing else thanks for your help

pal51961that's correct. Bluetooth will work for sure as it is a standard protocol. Wired connection is hard to say as it largely depends on the actual car.

pal51961You would probably be better off plugging in via aux or using Bluetooth. My car has ipod compatibility and can read some USB sticks but definitely not this DAP.

pal51961N3 can work with your car audio system under the following scenarios: (1) Play music on N3 and Bluetooth to your car audio player (2) Connect N3 line out to the Aux input of your car, and control playback via a Bluetooth Remote control (not included in the package) (3) Some of the high-end automobile sound system has a dedicated digital processor, for that you can connect N3 to the digital processor via USB Audio or S/PDIF coaxial, both digital connections are available via the Type C connector at the bottom of the N3 player. Again you can control playback via a Bluetooth Remote control (not included in the package)
Please be reminded that you can't use Bluetooth remote control with N3 when you are using Bluetooth to connect N3 to your car audio system. The BT function of N3 is kind of single tasked.

pal51961Sorry, since I work for Cayin, I can't comment on competing product directly (although the iPod is discontinued), especially from subjective based perspective.

AndykongI am very new to the DAP's. Do they function like an IPOD? Can I load music off of my Mac/apple?

You can export your iTune music to lossless music format such as AIFF, copy the music file to a TF/microSD card, insert into N3 and you are ready for playback.

pal51961In terms of sound quality N3 should be better due to its more advanced DAC chip and analog output design. I think most of people will agree that iPod was not designed with sound quality as the first priority.

Pmtski45What the hell are you talking about? EVERY DEVICE EVER has a 3.5mm headphone out jack. Are you with me so far? You usr an AUX cable abd pkug it into your car stereo. BAM! Compatable

SlowCousinPeteHe was talking about the car stereo being able to take over functions from the player. play/pause/ skip/forward/backward by the car stereo when the player is set up. 3.5mm just transfers the sound to the stereo.

SlowCousinPeteSure he did, he clarified it in a later post. There's a lot of non-tech-savvy people out there who can't precisely explain what they mean on the first try. Stop being a jerk.

GoremanXOh., ok. I'm a jerk because I was going off of what was actually said. I'm sorry I couldn't read his mind like you apparently could.
