Alright, in the interests of full disclosure, everyone should realize what they are getting. Yes, it's "tiny" (thus the Tiny Turbine name). Nevertheless, it is a pretty awesome and finely detailed piece. Here it is with several other popular spinners.

As for spinning surface, flatter appears to be better. The low clearance doesn't lend itself to highly concave surfaces like a lens. I need a very steady hand not to grind it into my 20cm focus lenses. Otherwise, it's a great little spinner.
Got my top a few days ago. It's a lot of fun for a little top and I really enjoy the antique finish. Thanks so much, Chris!
I was able to break 6 mins a couple of times on a K9 2 spinbase.

I'm sure I'll get there eventually. I've only been playing around with tops for about 6 weeks now, so I'm still experimenting with grips and the like. :)
bonnielass
Definitely takes some practice, and each top has it's own technique.
Got mine yesterday! Had a spin of 5:32 this morning. I am curious as to what makes this copper so dark already? Cute little top!
Wynd
Hi @WyndThese have a forced patina that makes the copper dark. Raw copper will develop a patina over time, however using a chemical process to create the patina generally gives you a more even appearance.
CDPeterson
thanks for the answer! It's a little powerhouse of a top!
Anyone else's Tiny Turbine due to arrive today? Tracking says mine is. 👍🏼
UPDATE; Hmm…USPS says "Delayed" 🤔
I think there is a bit of top burnout on MD, especially at this price point. I've picked up three tops here (incl. this one) and another direct from a seller's site, all under $75. But now I'm looking at pricier tops. Not the $400 exotic tops, but maybe something in the $100-200 range.
bonnielass
I make a lot of tops in that price range. They're generally one offs though.
Huh! I wonder why this isn't taking off? Only 2 days left and we haven't reached the discount goal.

Have you considered trying different knurl patterns? Love your designs. It has just been hard getting the limited ones for obvious reasons.
vultr
Thanks! I used to do traditional knurling, but since this has kind of become a signature for mine I haven't gone back to it.
my top arrived just now in switzerland. what a great piece of craftsmanship. first spin was around 3:38 on foreverspin base. thanks to @CDPeterson for this masterpiece.
dave_uus_basel
Glad you like it! Keep practicing. You'll be able to double that time.

Is there a reason why it costs so much to ship to Australia $13.25? It weighs 30g and is slightly bigger than a penny.
Dolphy
Unfortunately that's what the U.S. Postal Service charges. The price is due to the thickness of the package.
Anyone have a pic with this in their hand?

People also carry pocket tops to keep a grip on reality, at least I do. It's a crazy crazy world.
This picture may helps

After reading all the comments I decided to just pull out a ruler and man, 5/8 inch is tiny. The pictures do make it look bigger. I'm sure it is an excellent spinner, but I think I'd like something a little more substantial. I don't know if I'd want to carry this in my pocket, I wouldn't even know it was there, which I know is one of the points of an EDC item. I'd love to see one of these in maybe 7/8 inch.

Haha, yeah I was actually pretty surprised by all the surprised comments from those that have received their tops, it does say 5/8 right in the title. I think people tend to think this top is bigger when looking at the pictures because it's hard to imagine the amount of detail in something so "tiny" and I do think it is a testament to the amount of work & skill it takes to make one of these little guys. I do love the stippling on the grip. I actually do have a 1/2 top at work that I do enjoy. It is modeled in the form of the forever spin top. It is very basic and the craftsmanship doesn't begin to approach this top. I'm actually on the fence on this drop, but my wallet has been bleeding money as of late, otherwise I'd definitely jump on it, I still might. As to the larger tops, yeah, I've whipped a few of them with too much enthusiasm as well.
I think it's a great looking piece, and the small size makes it all the more impressive. I'll be getting in on this Drop tomorrow I think.
Can someone please tell me what is this exactly ? Thank you .

Heard of adults collecting sports cards, bottle caps, and comic books? It's about appreciating few of a kind costum made things in life. A lot of us just don't. These are custom made tops that are usually made in small batches. They are used in games or just a desktop stress relievers. Or to sit in your man cave as a shelf queen. If you do a search you will find your answer even better than my examples. It's just appreciating things that are made oddly better than everyday items you don't normally see. But at a cost.

Thank you so much for these informations .
I, too, was surprised at just how ridiculously small this top is. I guess I should have payed more attention to the size listed and not assumed that for $50+ that the top would be more substantial. Still spins well and is a nice looking top.

@TheSilencedOne Following up with our Support team now; someone should be in touch shortly.
Tyler
Has the new one shipped?
Woah, this is micro size, but the dimensions were listed and yeah this really does spin very well. Amazing actually. Its really very nicely done. C.D., please come back soon and if possible, make a larger top as this top is really beautiful and would be nice to spin a larger sized version of this.
I received mine Saturday morning and was also negatively surprised by its paltry size upon unpacking.
However, it functions exceptionally well--getting three minutes on (fountain pen) paper quite easily and very consistently. It can absolutely function as a personal timer, and the small size makes it perfectly portable. (though easy to lose)
My sole gripe turned to price, considering my expectations were for a more substantive item. However, this top is worthy of cherishing as long for as you don't lose it.
I would recommend this to a friend.
Thanks to all for helping make this opportunity/drop happen!
Holy crap this thing is tiny!

When they ship will we be provided any shipper tracking numbers since I believe it was stated that these would be shipped directly from the manufacturer after the orders are completed?

Very cool video Chris and glad to be on the drop. Always love watching how this stuff gets made. We so often forget how much attention the human hand has in terms of what we simply buy with our wallets. Definitely going to have fun with using these. Take your time manufacturing these as they will surely be "top" notch with your skill!

Thanks Jedi! And thanks for joining the drop.
