Add a handcrafted touch to your everyday camera carry with these neck straps from New York-based Cecilia. Made with carefully sourced materials that range from full-grain Argentinian cowhide to Peruvian baby alpaca wool, they’re available in two styles: The 4-centimeter-wide version is adjustable between 26 and 52 inches, while the 2.5-centimeter-wide version is adjustable between 37 and 50 inches.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of straps: brown leather/nylon with 4cm neck (base price), brown leather/brown leather with 2.5cm neck (+ $8), black leather/black leather with 2.5cm neck (+ $8), charcoal baby alpaca wool/black leather with 2.5cm neck (+ $14), or walnut baby alpaca wool/brown leather with 4cm neck (+ $30). Due to the nature of handmade items, your strap may have slight variations from those pictured here.
The leather’s full-grain structure provides strength and durability, and the tanning process gives it a supple feel, deep color, and traditional aroma. All hides are finished in the USA with surface treatments that further protect the leather. The fiber used for some of the straps is sheared and spun into wool from Peruvian alpacas, and then woven by hand with centuries-old backstrap loom techniques. Hypoallergenic and nonabsorbent with a high tensile strength, this wool comes in more than 20 shades of natural color.
Founded in 2013, Cecilia continues a long-standing tradition in leather manufacturing dating back to 1898 with the start of the Cromwell Leather Group. Now in the fifth generation of this family-run business, Cecilia represents the finished goods product line, focusing on the needs of the modern photographer with accessories that are as durable as they are beautiful.
