I read a review recently (http://www.macworld.com/article/2089224/usb-dac-review-six-compact-components-for-upgrading-your-computer-s-audio.html) that implied that this DAC didn't feature async transfer. I'm assuming this is an upgraded model?
bilditup1We developed a superior system called AdaptiWave which drastically reduces jitter beyond async designs. Its a CEntrance innovation. DACport was measured by Stereophile magazine and was decidedly better than most async implementations out there. CEntrance spearheads the cutting edge of digital audio technology. We have licensed our USB, FireWire and other tech to over 130 companies in the Pro Audo and Consumer Audio industries, so we know our tech. You don't get on the cover of Stereophile for nothing! Having said that, our asynch implementations are also top notch, as evidenced by the success of the portable HiFi-M8 and Mini-M8. As I wrote many times in the media, including in the DACport "design notes" section on our website, a well-designed circuit is insensitive to the transmission medium.

CEntranceIn which case, someone should tell Massdrop to correct this sentence: "To further guarantee sound quality, the internal JitterGuard clock management system enables asynchronous transmission and uses oscillators with 10ppm precision."
Here's the Stereophile review he was referring to: http://www.stereophile.com/headphones/centrance_dacport_usb_headphone_amplifier/index.html
