Audiophile community should stand up for each other. It is highly unethical of CEntrance to leave around 900 contributors(product on Indiegogo) in limbo and move on to something new. They just moved to Massdrop as there was lot of negativity on Indiegogo. The so called powerful version of DACport could find only 80 backers in more than a month. A time sensitive device which was promised to ship in April 2015 is not ready and they are not even sure when it will be ready. It was supposed to ship in April and they are saying the parts are ready to be assembled now and blaming Apple for delay. How can you trust a company like this? Mind boggling fact is that there was not even one mention of delay on Hifi Skyn page as they continued to string us along week by week pretending we’re almost there but they found the courage to announce on this forum that the project is delayed.
uptodateIt's easy to confuse Indiegogo and Massdrop, but they are different. Here on Massdrop, a finished product is sold. DACport Slim is here, it's done, it's ready to go.
Indiegogo is a different concept. There, you are paying to bring to market a new product that doesn't exist yet. Sometimes we develop products with community input and for that we use crowdfunding.
By signing up with Indiegogo you agreed that the product was not finished and that delays were possible. HiFi-Skyn has undergone tremendous changes due to customer input and has become a much better product in the result. Those changes and other product development challenges caused delays. The crowdfunding community accepts this risk and pays a much lower price in return. We always keep in communication with the community and have provided over 90 major and countless minor updates to keep everyone in the loop on our progress.
If you don't agree with that process, all you have to do is talk to us and we will refund your contribution. No problem! You are welcome to purchase the product at the retail price when it goes on sale.
Here is the link to the crowdfunding campaign that's being referred to by the original poster:

CEntranceI just sent an email to your sales department about reviewing this product; I won't clutter space here talking about what I said in the email, but I would be honored to show the Massdrop community that this is a product to be reckoned with. The features itself are unheard of at this price, and if I could be of any assistance, I could lay out how it sounds with many of the headphones people are asking about here (AKG K7XX, Beyerdynamic T90, multiple IEM's, etc.). Please feel free to look at the email when you have a chance. Thanks!

uptodateBut umm this is kind of different.
On Indiegogo/Kickstarter you guys are watching a person/company coming to you with a business idea/product/etc. And you as an investor.. You know what I don't need to explain this, as I'm sure you know the difference.
Your complaints is exactly why i steer clear of things like indiegogo and such. Especially after that stupid Potato Salad thing got funded.. But I also have realized a lot of good people are trying to push new products onto the market. But again I'll just wait till an actual product is ready to go.

CasualSinThere is no confusion here. Delays happen, couple of months at the most. 6 months delay(not sure may be more) for a product which will become obsolete in less than an year does seem unacceptable. If it was inevitable, why promise??

uptodateSix months is nothing. I've only backed two projects and both came on time. However you have projects that are over a year old now (after backing date). Again most of these projects are trying to bring something new into the world. And you as an "investor" will have to deal with all issues of bringing a brand new product to market.
So if anything I would steer clear of any project that looks like its a big project.
uptodateUptodate, we want you to be happy. We need to know your real name so we can process the refund.

CEntranceI saw that campaign. I wish I could have joined it, but in my line of work I have to update my phone every year when a new one comes out. I never get to really play with the 3rd party toys :/
