Hello, I just joined, primarily for the audiophile products. Looking at purchasing the NHT C3 speakers for our new living room. Space is about 15 feet wide by 33 long and they will fire long ways. Space is just for general listening, music room with all equipment is downstairs, so hoping they will fill it with sound nicely. Cheers.

Anyway ... followed directions on page 29. If you're using Windows 7, you need to install Windows updates KB3035131 and then KB3033929. And you need to install the universal drivers for CEntrance (duh... don't attempt installing stuff before coffee ). Oh, and before installing those Windows updates, make sure you've got SP1 installed. The updates won't work without SP1. You should be able to find manual update installers from someplace other than the Microsoft website.
Another tip -- don't use the USB cable they provided. I used my charging cable for a Samsung Galaxy S4 and it works like a charm.
Now I need to do some experimentation ... Going to see if I can use this DAC with a Little Dot MkII and the AKG K7XX. The Little Dot (with upgraded tubes) is better than the xDuoo TA-02 so this should be interesting.
Overall, so far, other than the cutting out on the Mac, the product seems quite solid.
I've tried the DACport Slim with just the K7XX (without any other external amp) and it DOES sound better than just the plain Jane output from the computer. Solid product (once I got it up and running!)
On a side note, everyone should regularly update their windows for performance, stability and most importantly, security.
And yes. Thank you for your insight on Windows updates. I'll make sure to contact you if I ever need any more advice on Windows updates.
It does lock up my Windows 10 machine at random times which is completely unacceptable.
OSX is completely fine and I have not had any issues.
Is there anyway for me to request I do not receive an additional cable? I have 100 around the house, you'd just be harming the environment sending me another cable.
