I decided to pull out the old Steelseries Siberia V2 which I used to use before my AKG K553s came in. Plugged it into the Slim and noticed that it was much, much harder to hear the noise floor. My best guess is due to the fact that the Siberia V2s are open-backed while my AKGs were closed. Another bonus was that the in-line volume control on my Siberia V2s could be lowered so that the noise floor was completely obliterated(to my ears, at least), and a little bit of increased volume from the Slim was all that was needed to offset the lowered volume.
I do have a pair of Philips SHP9500s which are open-back and should be arriving soon. I'll report on how they pair with the Slim and see if they have a lower perceived noise floor when compared to my closed-back AKG K553s.
Also, I did find a micro USB with a ferrite bead in it. No difference.

BoomboommadafakaThe noise floor is barely audible on the AKG K553. Keep in mind that my ears are still quite sharp as I have not yet blasted them out with millennial music. I don't think it's a deal breaker, but of course it would definitely be nice if it wasn't there at all.
If you have low impedance earbuds though, the noise floor does become a bit annoying. My JLabs J4 are rated at 16Ohms, and therefore I can rather clearly hear the noise floor on low gain. My Xiaomi Piston 3s, on the other hand, are kind of in between the J4s and the K553s. Audible, but not annoyingly so.

SomeTechNoobthe sensitivity on that J4 how ever is not really high, so I can tell for sure my FX850 will pick up audible noise... thanks for the heads up guys, too bad but I'm out.
