I really want this, but the volume control makes me nervous - can I still output from the CEntrance to my dedicated headphone amp without getting a dual volume control problem? I am a little unsure if I can connect it like this..

causticPretty sure maxed volume on high gain is measured to be at line level output.

causticSet Gain to HIGH, max out DACport Slim's volume knob and connect an external amp to your heart's content. But why do that is another question. If you need power to drive your cans, DACport Slim has plenty of output power on its own.
