I have to agree that the audio equipment industry is filled with snake oil and really plays with subjectivity and placebo. Just a small add on, the amp is usually the part that colours the sound the most. Not saying that dacs can't; it's just that amps usually play a significantly larger role. Dacs simply take a digital signal and converts it to an analog signal. Clean, transparent dacs are objectively better, but people may prefer different colourations of sound. Since the output of dacs can be very weak, they may have a hard time driving some audio equipment, so an amplifier...well, amplifies the signal so it is powerful enough to drive your devices to comfortable listening levels.
Going back to the original question, the DacPort Slim is very clean and neutral. If the dac/amp in the HyperX Cloud II is also neutral, you hear much colouration differences. You might get lower noise floor or better resolution, but that's about it. It's up to you if it is worth 100 dollars. If the dac/amp in the Cloud II are not neutral, well, the dacport will give you a more neutral output. Colouration of sound can also be achieved pretty well today via EQ, so it's up to you if you will benefit from the Dacport enough to justify the price. The Cloud II are basically the Takstar 80 Pro under a different name, so you can look into that and see how much they benefit from a dac/amp other than the one that comes bundled with it.
In the end, the DacPort Slim is a great product. If you need it, then it is an amazing bargain for what it offers. However, depending on the headphones/previous setup used, I don't believe that everyone will benefit from it enough to justify the price.

U-3CI just needed a small portable amp for a small dB boost. I prefer my headsets to be rattling and 80% my earbuds need a boost, and i know, ill probably just blow them; but then that means they are trash anyways. Would prefer a belt/waistband clip but this thing is small. I didnt make the drop cause i was sitting down to order it with 11 minutes left and spilled liquid on my main PC so cleaning that took a front seat

HorrorI've spilled enough liquid on my computers to always place paper towels on the computer desk. ; )
These are not really for portable use as they will severely drain the battery on mobile devices, and they don't work with all android devices. CEntrance has a portable solution with a built in battery if you are interested, but it is also more expensive. Then there is the big brother of the DacPort Slim, the DacPort HD, which you can get from CEntrance's website. I will recommend looking into some Creative products. They have certain portable amps that can be clipped on and offers a ton of features. If you are on a budget, there's the Fiio offerings. They might be enough to give you the small boost you need without costing a fortune.
