Does it drive my Beyer DT880 (600ohm) well?

uulaviYes it will. You must switch to high gain. If you normally listen at very high volume then you may not be too satisfied. I say this because I have DT880 600ohm too but I have a colleague who listens at a deafening level which I would never even try. Dacport slim would not drive it to a deafening level but pretty loud.

ridhuankimThanks for the info! I just ordered the product. I usually listen it quite loud but not at deafening level. So I think I'll be fine ;)
Have you noticed any improvement on sound quality etc. when you compare it to computers own soundcard/motherboard(no dac, no amp)? At the moment, I'm really lacking punchiness on the sound and highs are harsh. I'm hoping that this will do the trick for me.

uulaviIt is almost night and day. If I were to comparr it with business purpose laptops or regular onboard audio, it would proudly and certainly be a.huge improvement. Even those equipped with good onboard sound.card, I.am.confident dacport slim would be better. I have dell.xps l701x(yeah its old but it has subwoofer, JBL speakers and sounds great) and dacport beats it. At this price, I cannot be happier. I bought 5 units already and I gave it to some of my close friends and they are all extremely happy. They carry it to office and bring it back home. And seeing smiles on their face listening to music, you know they are having eargasm. And this dacport is very forgiving. Your 70s collection would still.sound very much engaging and come to life. Plugin cheap IEMs to.expensive headphones.. they are all driven very well.
punch bass? You won't get what is not there but whatever bass or highs you have in your source would be presented in a.very touching way. (didn't I say eargasm?)
Although this is a solid state amp, it does not sound cold.
When playing lower frequencies, if you listen at moderate volume you can feel the air pressure. Place a.piece.of paper laying flat on your headphones speaker(would recommend closed.back headphones that is capable to reproduce low frequencies for.this demonstration) and see the paper.dance.
Bass impact is pretty good.
Highs are just luxury. It also has a very wide sound stage. I can go on.....
I am sure you would be very happy with it because me and my friends all love it.
Please share your impressions.and your gears used when you get it.
Edit: Compared.to.onboard, dacport slim.filters noise very well. If you listen.from onboard audio, you will hear noise. Some other usb audio dac-amp picks up.noise and I was thinking of buying usb noise filter which cost around 80USD. You don't have to worry about noise with dacport slim!

ridhuankimThat was exactly what I wanted to hear! I will give my review of the product later when I receive it. That day might be 2 months later because I ordered it to Europe. Thanks ridhu!

uulaviI too have a set of 600ohm DT880s, and the DACport Slim drives them surprisingly well. I actually like how it sounds over the Schiit Magni 2 Uber, with these cans at least. I originally picked up a Magni 2 U when I bought the Beyers, but I felt like it sounded a little cold, too analytical for my taste, and had slightly harsh/shrill/hot highs (so I sold it and bought a Little Dot MkII, which is also awesome, btw). The DACport has none of these problems. Nice and warm, not too hot in the highs, and ZERO noise floor with such high impedance cans. Be prepared to flip that high-gain switch though.

SchiitMyPantsHaha, nice to hear that! I also thought of buying Little Dot MkII or another tube amp. I've made reasearch maybe 2 months so far and I just couldn't decide what amp+dac would be the best for dt880 600ohm. Then I found this offer and woa, it is so cheap compared another amp+dacs on the market + dacport has good reviews --> Must-buy for me. Now I'll have to wait..

U-3CMy CEntrance DACport Slim finally arrived (nice pre-Xmas present)!
First of all, the installation process was really easy. You just need to download the right driver and plug it in to your computer and headphones. At first I didn't hear anything and I tried to troubleshoot the problem. The problem was that I didn't notice that it has a volume knob... :D It drives my Beyerdynamic DT880 (600ohm) perfectly in my opinion. PC's sound volume is at 50% and dac's at 100% (high gain) and I don't want to put it louder.
The sound is much clearer from dac than straight from PC's 3.5mm jack. I had to download some EQ programs because the sound was harsh and too bright for me (Realtek Audio's EQ-preset didn't work anymore). After equalization CEntrance DACport Slim is really a no-brainer at this price! The sound has improved a lot and now I can't leave these cans alone. I really want to thank you guys for the info before I bought this little piece of magic!

uulaviGlad you are enjoying it. Someone also said dacport slim is too bright but I don't share the same impression. I think it should be the dacport slim bringing out the true characteristics of DT880. DT880 is a bright headphone. I pair my DT880 with tube amp for that reason. I used dacport slim with HE350 too and was OK. Not the best as the highs become fatiguing but its same as the DT880. What eq programming did u use? I don't like to use any equalizer but just curious.
