Wow, I have to say considering the reviews these get they are pretty disappointing. The treble in particular sounds harsh and flat. Much better off finding a pair of Usher S520 as cheap as you can.
On one of the speakers a screw had come out from the driver in transit and another one come most of the way out. The one that came out went into the port and got stuck inside. I had to open it up to get the screw back. Must say the construction is pretty average.
All in all not very happy, but I'll survive.

NeoGman, that sounds terrible.
have you let them burn in? elevated them? i was part of the first round and mine sat in their box until this week. i was waiting for the centrance amp to come out but have pretty much given up on the prospect. instead, i went with the topping tp22 and a set of the isoacoustic monitor stands (small) to get them up to ear level. so far i'm really happy with my setup. i would say the only downside is i'm missing out on fine spatial depth (mostly house/tech/dnb). i can hear it when i close my eyes and search for it but it doesn't seem to come naturally...yet. i'm hoping the break in period will reveal more detail. but the treble is crystal clear and the bass has decent punch for 4" speakers.

theeattreI've tried them in nearfield, and set up as traditional standmouts. Tried them elevated and angled. They've run for a weekend (50ish hours)
I'm thinking there must be something wrong with them.. Maybe the fact that they came apart in shipping means they were handled roughly enough to get broken. The tweeters are working because there is treble far above the crossover point. It's just completely turning me off.
I have the Usher S520, Paradigm Studio 10 and Tekton Lore Monitor to compare it to at the moment. I bought these to use at my work and based on the reviews they seemed like they would perform quite well. Maybe I'm just expecting too much from what they are.

NeoGthat's quite the speaker collection!
it honestly sounds like something's wrong/damaged; surely whatever caused multiple screws to come out can't be good.
what are you driving them with?
on a side note, really sucks that massdrop removed the talk function. it makes it pretty inconvenient to keep up current conversations on past drops without searching through your history or using their search feature every time. users do use this as a forum and maybe more people would have responded to your dilemma.

theeattreThere we go, looks like there is something wrong. When listening to them last night, a rattle started eminating from the center of the right speaker, right where the tweeter is mounted. It happens after you push the volume.
How does one go about doing the warranty dance with MassDrop? So far my experience has not been great, but I can't really blame MD for faulty factory sealed gear. I can only blame Centrance for that..
FYI I usually run still from an iBasso D7 Async 192/24 USB DAC. Also tried direct from an iPhone. Tried amplifying with an SMSL SA-50, SMSL SA-98E, Denon AVR-X2113 and Yamaha RX-V661

theeattreThese speakers must be positioned correctly. Elevating/tilting them slightly is highly recommended. Imagine a direct line from the cone to your ears and make sure to position them that way. They really open up this way due to the coaxial design.
