LancerFINThe plot thickens, he later goes on about how the wires are made of different materials for the different frequencies. People defending this guy should feel ashamed. If people want them because they look nice, or that they are built well, then that is fine, but don't get them because you think they use some crazy technology.
It should be VERY easy to set up an experiment with an oscilloscope, maybe use fft, and show the customers that it is better. It is very telling that this isn't done. For example, the O2 headphone amp has extensive numbers to back up that it is close to transparent, but then the snakeoil guys come in and say "that $120 amp sucks, you need this $2000 one, no I'm not going to show you the research, but ours is better than that one". it is the same song and dance here; if you like the way they look, and want nice quality speaker cables then these will absolutely work. I would bet any amount of money that you couldn't tell cable differences in a double blind test if the size and number of strands was the same.

shrap7As a physics professor, what's your take on Skin effect? Is that an urban myth?
I spent enough time in a theory class (have two Masters Degrees and am a gigging musician) and enough time in the real world (as a recording engineer and listener). I wouldn't sell snake oil. We have plenty of products at CEntrance -- neither are snake oil. I don't need to lie to protect my living. I'm doing ok.
You won't hear the cable if any if this is in your listening environment: "I have screaming kids running around, the heater is blowing loud, neighbors are watching TV and I listen to compressed pop anyway". If that describes your world, I totally agree. Radio shack wire is the answer. Save the cash and sorry about that world.
On the other hand, if you listen critically, in a quiet, echo-treated environment, on really good speakers with low impedance, with a low distortion amp (well below 1% THD at modest levels), then you WILL hear the differnce between cables. Even a modest 8V across 4Oms is 2A. On a lengthy cable, that produces non-zero heat. Heat results in higher impedance and you've just introduced a non-linearity into the system. Again, this will not be obvious with a cheap setup. It's like saying "I can do the same things with a Hyundai Sonata as I can with the BMW." Yes you can. And no, you can't. It all depends on how closely you are watching the experience.
