I have had the opportunity to do A/B comparisons with blue jeans cable and transparent audio cable. As most of you are aware, that means I was comparing thirty dollar cables with cables costing in the thousands. While I did hear a difference in sound between the two cables, I am not of the opinion that one cable sounded, in any significant way, better than the other. That being said, the price of these CEntrance cables pales in comparison to many other brands. I don't really understand all the fuss about these being outrageously priced. You can spend 30k on cables, believe me, it's a thing. Maybe a hundred bucks on cables isn't worth it if you only spent two hundred bucks on your speakers. However, if you have decent speakers, you owe it to your speakers to go a step beyond ten dollar wal-mart 18 gauge cable. You don't have to go with CEntrance, but something in this price range can insure that you get a decently built cable that is made to a higher standard and will last. If you want something of quality at a cheaper price point, check out blue jeans cable. If you want something a little better than the CEntrance, check out Audioquest and Kimber, but the price goes up. I can't in good conscience recommend Transparent cable. I myself prefer a bare wire connection over banana plugs because, as others have pointed out, the banana plugs are less secure. Also, the bare wire connection is just simpler for my application. Go with what you prefer. and what meets your needs. In my home system, I run monoblock amps that draw and dispense a lot of power. My current primary speakers (I own many and upgrade quite often) are inefficient monsters that eat 500 watts for breakfast and ask for more. It would be unsafe, to say the least, for me to use some cheap, chintzy, thin, non-shielded cabling. For those who want to start the "coat hanger argument," I encourage you to explore the science of conductivity. Otherwise, enjoy your coat hangers.
Edit: Just finished reading through this thread, after I wrote my post, and wow lol. Let's get some cable lifters on here massdrop, that will inspire even more entertaining outbursts!

theupandcomingcoreyCan you successfully do blind ABX tests of it? Sighted comparisons don't really do much because of the placebo effect.
I'm well aware of the science of conductivity. It pretty much shows that the only real factor is the maximum effective frequency, which is not a concern for audio applications (which are khz, not mhz or ghz), and resistance, which can be relatively easily fixed by using larger gauge wires.

theupandcomingcoreyIf there are some important parts of conductivity which are applicable to low frequencies then I'd be happy to take a look at them, but plenty of much more sensitive applications use much less complicated cables.
