Sewn, painted, burnished, and buffed by hand, Chester Mox’s #90 bifold wallet maintains a slim profile while offering plenty of space for cards, bills, and more. In addition to six card pockets, it’s equipped with two hidden pockets for folded cash and a top slot for full-size bills. It comes in your choice of horse front Chromexcel or latigo leather, both offered in two different colors, or a black shell cordovan exterior with calfskin interior. The Chester Mox logo is hot stamped on the inside lower right of the wallet, centered with matte gold foil.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of leather: Horse Front #8, Horse Front Natural, Latigo Chestnut, Latigo Gray, or a Horween Black Shell Cordovan Exterior With Black Box Calf Interior (+$115). This drop is limited to 155 units.
Perhaps best known for its quality saddle-stitching, Chester Mox hand-pricks every product using Blanchard iron prickers, then hand-sews each piece using two needles and an awl. Because each stitch is created with a knot, saddle-stitching ensures that even if one thread is compromised, the rest of the stitching retains its structural integrity. The method dates back hundreds of years, and the resulting stitch is far stronger than anything machine-made.
Made exclusively by Horween Leather Company, Chromexcel is crafted from horse front leather and takes nearly a month to make. Latigo, also made by Horween, undergoes a similar process in which it is both vegetable tanned and chrome tanned, then loaded with oils and waxes. Latigo, however, is made from cowhide while Chromexcel comes from horse front. Both leathers are highly durable. More durable than either of these is shell cordovan, which comes from the fibrous flat muscle of a horse’s hide. It undergoes a 6-month process that includes tanning, stuffing, shaving, and polishing, and it’s arguably the most durable form of leather available.
