Hello, I just joined, primarily for the audiophile products. Looking at purchasing the NHT C3 speakers for our new living room. Space is about 15 feet wide by 33 long and they will fire long ways. Space is just for general listening, music room with all equipment is downstairs, so hoping they will fill it with sound nicely. Cheers.

However, this was designed as a portable unit, and it excels at being good and portable. It's definitely one of the best battery-powered portable dac/amp right now. I still prefer my desktop setups over the Mojo much more obviously. However, if portability is an issue/concern, the Mojo would be great if you have the money to spend. Otherwise, other setups would probably be better in terms of price/performance
The funny thing is that I didn't even say it's bad, it's quite good in fact. It seems some people just can't read well or are just blinded by fanboy-ism.
I guess you must be the Chord fanboy giving the sh-it emote to everyone who says something even slightly negative about the Mojo. Go figure.
EDIT: Alright from the sh*t I'm getting, it looks like there are a lot like you. I guess if you guys haven't tried other setups, you wouldn't know any better. That's too bad I guess.
1. I only mentioned that I *prefer* the grace m9xx with the Fostex TH-X00 ONLY and not other cans 2. With the m9xx, you're paying more for features like cross-feed and filters, and the small form factor as a transportable desktop dac/amp. 3. With the Mojo, you're paying more for it's portability, performance and everything packed into an even smaller form-factor.
I don't know why it's so hard for you people to read. If PORTABILITY is something you need, GET THE MOJO because it's really one of the best bang for buck in the portable market right now. But if you DON'T NEED PORTABILITY, other setups will be better in terms of PRICE/PERFORMANCE.
For instance, the Schiit Modi2/Magni2U stack costs only $200-300 (depending on which version you get) but has more power than the Mojo and Grace, so it technically performs better. I am not talking about subjective impressions or sonic preferences here, I am talking purely about technical PRICE/PERFORMANCE. For 1/2 or 1/3 the price of the Mojo/Grace, the Schiit stack techinically performs to the same level and even better in terms of powering headphones since the Magni2U has more power than both. Some people might like the brighter nature of the Magni 2 or hate it, but those are subjective impressions. I am talking purely about PRICE/PERFORMANCE. I am not talking about like/hate, but about VALUE AND PRICE/PERFORMANCE. I think I need to repeat PRICE/PERFORMANCE many times and in capitals so that you can read it better.
I don't know how else to explain in simple English so that you people can read and understand.
P.S. Judging from the fact you have the Chord Hugo, it seems you don't know what 'value' is. It's widely known the Hugo is a great device, but is offensively overpriced. It may have great personal value to you because you like it, and I agree that it sounds wonderful, but it's still grossly overpriced for what it offers. You get what you pay for with the Mojo, but not with the Hugo (YMMV because this is where subjective impressions and preferences come into play, and not about price/performance anymore).
I fully agree that you should totally get what you like best in terms of sound and what is the best fit to your use-case (portable or not, etc.) And while I hear you on the Schiit stack, power does not necessarily equal sound quality in my experience. And when I use the term performance (no caps) I mean sound quality - to me that's all that matters. Other may define it differently, that's cool, but again there's plenty of high-powered crap out there that sounds terrible. Not that the Schiit stuff is crap, it's great and they're great guys, but the Modi/Magni stack is not my cup of tea and I believe the Mojo is superior in terms of SQ (I've heard every piece of Schiit gear currently made). In fact some of the most expensive and highest quality 2-channel amps are low-powered SET amps that sound amazing but might only put out a handful of watts (and therefore you have to be very careful in matching them to high efficiency speakers).
And apologize for lumping you in with the iPhone 6 superiority point. That post/troll made me laugh.
So agree, listen to what you like, do your own research and subject listening, understand what is most important to you, and enjoy the hobby. Cheers
