This radio controlled watch benefits from atomic timekeeping (A-T), as its quartz oscillator synchronizes automatically—or, should you choose, on demand—to an atomic clock via one of five radio stations around the world. This means, for all practical purposes, that the watch offers the accuracy of an atomic clock. And because it’s equipped with Citizen’s solar-powered Eco-Drive technology, it doesn’t require a battery and offers a 2-year power reserve. It also boasts a perpetual calendar, which accounts for leap years as well as odd and even months, and a daylight saving function between 4 and 5 o’clock.
Note: This drop is limited to 18 units.
Featuring a black dial with a textured background, the watch is fitted with two lumed sword-style hands and a seconds hand with a hilt-shaped counterweight. Marked with 26 different city names, the stationary bezel provides quick reference to time zones around the world, while the rehaut features positive and negative Arabic numerals that correlate with these time zones. A date window sits at 3 o’clock, while the 9 o’clock position displays a radio reception indicator: “OK” means that the reception was successful; “RX” means it’s currently receiving a signal; “NO” means that the reception was unsuccessful.
