AleskbYes, marketing hyperbole is alive and well.
Having said that, is there any thought on whether this is a good watch from a good company with a good reputation? Thinking of buying one for my son who is a professional so it has to look and be a good timepiece.
jsmiller58The build and internal automatic movement are good, the watch is built by Edox, a long running established Swiss brand. However, the name Claude Bernard means nothing to watch snobs, it is simply Edox's lower end fashion line of watches. What I'm trying to say is that this is a very good watch, but it won't impress watch snobs. I bought one because I know it's a good watch that looks nice, I don't care about the name.
AleskbYou can LOL all u want......however, I believe, this watch gets its design cues from high end dress watches such as PP Calatrava, Cartier Tortue, JLC Heraion, Breguet 3169 etc.
i think, for a budget, this is a pretty decent dress watch, if you don’t care for brand name n prestige, that is.
ShoghiSadeghiAfsharMy son loves his and has received compliments on its looks. In time he may want to move up the food chain on watches, but for now, as a young professional, it seems to be suiting him just fine.
ColorBlindI'm not really sure of the link between my "lol" and your reply. I wasn't laughing at the watch itself, but at the statement "roman numerals are a sign of sophistication". To be clear, I wasn't laughing at roman numerals either, I love the ones on my SPB069. It's just NOT a sign of sophistication ;)
