AGstardustThe lense seems to be set up so that it gently directs tops towards the centre, which will all them to spin for as long as is possible, as they'll be guided away from the edges.
If you've spent $200 on two or three nice tops, perhaps with jewelled bottom (which would minimize friction), it seems a pretty natural progression to want an ideal surface to spin them rather than having them bounce around on a wood desk (where the grain will slow things down) or on a simple glass sheet (where they'll tend to wander off).
Not my "thing," but I'm finding it easy to see why someone might want it.
It seems silly for this to be categorized as "everyday carry"; this should be left on one's desk. Minor quibble...

cbbrowneThe Tops themselves are regaurded as "Everyday carry" (the smaller ones) because of how small they are, and they slip into a pocket no problem and can be used at work or where-ever you desire. The spin-station is correctly, an at home, at office, accessory. Just as easy to put it into the EDC catagory as that's where the community looks for the Tops.
