How do these compare to Darn Tough? Curious if anyone has both to compare.

pschweitzCame here to ask the same thing. When compared to the Darn Tough currently on drop (Men’s #1913: 40% merino wool, 56% nylon, 4% Lycra) it appears the CloudLine has a much higher percentage of Merino wool (63% merino wool, 33% nylon, 4% spandex), so from my understanding, these are probably not quite ideal if you are going to be hiking and risk getting wet as they will take longer to dry, however just based on that I would think that they are probably a bit more padded. I'm no expert though, just speculating.

DrPatrickBatemanI have many pairs of DT socks, the percentage of merino varies a lot. It is usually lower for light cushion or ultralight socks, and much higher for their medium cushion hiking and heavy cushion skiing socks. I am wondering about how these compare to Darn Tough as well.

ZZ_UPennTrue, the merino wool content isn't really specified for each individual sock, so the 63% mark could be for the medium thickness sock whereas the DT are light.

pschweitzHi @pschweitz, our socks are knit from a premium fine gauge merino wool making them super soft but also extra durable. But you don't have to take our word for it, there are reviews online and you can try a pair on if you don't love them our 100% Guarantee has you covered.

DrPatrickBatemanHi @DrPatrickBateman, you are correct that the wool percentage shown is for our thicker medium cushion sock, but our ultra light think socks only vary slightly: 59% merino, 34% nylon, 7% spandex. The mediums will take longer to dry than the ultra lights, but a good merino wool will dry quickly and our ultra lights are our go to sock for warm weather hiking or when it's raining here in the pacific northwest.

krugoh@krugoh From our website: "You can be confident that you are going to love these hiking socks as much as we do. Or your money back. That's our guarantee. If they don't live up to the abuse of the wild. Your money back. If there are any defects. Your money back. If a bear eats them whole. Well. Consider yourself lucky. But we think you get the picture."
No catches, no hassles, just great customer service.

ZZ_UPenn@ZZ_UPenn Thanks for asking. The specs only showed the content for the Medium Cushion. This is now adjusted to show all varieties.

CloudLineThanks for the clarification! I wasn't ruling it out for the higher merino wool content, obviously I think thats a good thing! I'm in for 2 pairs though!
