There definitely is a better choice, and it’s the Valentine One, far and away the best radar detector out there. It is the only one that tells you the direction the threat is coming from (nice to know if the radar is behind you or in front.). The Valentine One is always the top reviewed product, and is the only one used by test drivers in their cross-country speed test. Check out WireCutter for their review. The only downside is the price: $400, but it’s the only radar detector that offers periodic upgrades, should these become necessary, repairs, and whatever else you need. I’ve had mine for thirty years, and it has saved me on more occasions than I can name. Yeah, the price is steep, but never having been stopped for thirty years is worth the price. The allure of lower price will quickly fade when you’re holding that speeding ticket in your hand. The Valentine One is the only radar detector I would consider, and it’s been worth every penny. Just my 2c worth.
