So I received mine with MX Clears. I have to say this must be the ABSOLUTE WORST and cheapest quality mechanical keyboard I've seen (I own only 3 but used or tested quite a lot more). Any time you touch it (or move the desk), not to mention actually typing, some springy voices come out of it, it's UNBEARABLE! I couldn't find any other keyboard with the Clears so had to get this for this egregious price and I have to say they switches are indeed cool, but they're sitting in such a piece of junk it must really hurt them. A solution would be to solder them all out and into a Filco, but I'd probably break something (I changed 4 switches in my life and my soldering wasn't pretty). I've paid for garbage before, but never $200 (incl. shipping and customs), wow. This goes into the same bin a $3 (incl. shipping, no customs fees either) mouse from Aliexpress that took 2 weeks and not 2 months to ship. At least those guys make it absolutely clear they're selling cheap Chinese junk, and the price reflects that.

spowiednikI can't really comment on the price, but I got mine with Clears too, and haven't experienced any of the issues you've noted. Perhaps it's a dud unit? Try reaching out to support.

xpewpewxpewpew, have you ever used or seen a mechanical keyboard before?
I have to ask, because maybe you just think a mechanical keyboard is supposed to make a gong noise for every key press. It's a common misconception most of the population still makes, so I have to assume you simply think yours is "normal" and who knows, maybe even praising it to friends to justify spending $200 on this UNUSABLE thing worse than any keyboard, not to mention a $60 "gaming" mechanical kbs (most are cool, just weird looking, all are better quality), not to mention actual good ones.
Look, here you don't need to pretend - you're not reasoning this waste of money with your friends, we're in the mechanical keyboard category - here you're supposed to be elitist mechanical keyboard connessoir, or at the very least, speak the truth :)

spowiednikWow that got confrontational pretty quickly. I am in no way new to using mechanical keyboards. I've been typing on mechanical keyboards for the better part of 8 years now. Nor is this my first mechanical keyboard. I own and use on a semi-regular basis, Browns, Blues, Greens, Reds, and Electrostatic. This is my first foray with Clears though, so if you have more experience with those, kudos to you. And this isn't even my most expensive. That distinction goes to my WhiteFox in Blue. So for you to assume that I have no idea what I'm talking about is a bit presumptions.
On my unit, I have no complaints, aside from a slight tear in the box when I first received it. The keys do not make 'springy' noises, nor is the build quality shady. As a matter of fact, I'd probably say this is more solid feeling than my Ducky Mini, with it's aluminum body. So if your keyboard has an issue, definitely take it up with support. But from my personal experience, this keyboard is quite the solid piece.

xpewpewIt's not the _keys_ making noises, it's universal, something in the bottom plate, or below, or above, or maybe... maybe this thing is just badly designed? Not to mention QA that passed and the person from the last page got a keyboard registering every Enter key press twice?
I lack the hardware to properly record the difference between anything else and this crap, but I will try...
In the meantime, let me just say that was confrontational only because you're defending something that to me looks like a really cheap product from mainland Asia that I can get for pennies (maybe not in this category, but easily 1/4th the price for a BETTER product!) And I really doubt they made only one bad piece and sent that single bad piece to me...
And for the huge count of mechanical keyboards I've used (I owned the "smaller half" of those, but I'm sure at my former employers', my successors were happy to inherit those), this is the absolute worst, below all of those "acceptable-bad" pieces...
So to summarize: I will try to show you what's the difference between a (cheaper) proper keyboard and this crap, but if I fail, that's only because i can't afford good recording equipment because.... I'm spending twice the average wage on every keyboard...

spowiednikIf you can document the issue, by all means do so. Because like I had mentioned, I have no issues with my unit, nor do the multitude of people who have reviewed it. And if you can show that it is indeed acting in a way that it shouldn't be, contact MD support, hell, even CODE support, and I'm sure they will try to remedy your issue. Bum units aren't unheard of, and you might just have received one that has problems. But to make the assumption that your experience with this keyboard is the same as everyone else, and therefore is a bad product, is an unfair assumption IMO.
Also, I'd challenge you to find a Cherry Clear keyboard for 1/4 * 150, which, for reference sakes, is $37.50.
(By the way, the CODE is labelled as "Designed in USA, Made in Taiwan". And Taiwan isn't part of the PRC, despite speaking the same language. Just an FYI.)

spowiednikWha he's saying is true. The code with clears is one of the most pingy keyboards out there. I'm surprised people still even buy these, let alone saving 15 dollars by waiting 2 months , what a joke.

SourI have no ping on mine, then again I use PBT keycaps and not the crappy stock keycaps. Maybe that is the problem with stock keycaps.

Sourwell for me i am joining because if i buy it from WASD i have to pay 47 dollars shipping to the Netherlands, making a 150 dollar keyboard a 200 dollar keyboard, so i am saving more like 25% of the original price, and as far as the reviews go, only a marginal amount of people are complaining about the sound, most are happy with it.

Mimi.NDear Mimi, don't forget you'll have to pay customs on top of the $150, here it's 23% VAT + customs fee. It actually did cost me almost $200 here on Massdrop.
And even if it costed $150 which it doesn't - would that excuse the cheapest build quality you will ever see in a mechanical keyboard? If you get a piece like mine (which I repeat: is unusable, I don't and won't use it and still haven't thrown it away only because maybe one day I'll borrow a camera and document this failure to save others), you can end up with the biggest buyer's remorse in your life. Happened to me, as you can tell :/

6EQUJ5Hi, my keyboard has the 'ping' noise quite noticeable, can I ask what switch you have for yours? It is also the clear switch as well?

ApeWorldYes, I have the MX Clears but I have PBT keycaps on them. I only noticed pinging noises when used with ABS keycaps. Maybe that is the problem. Typing this from my iKBC Fullsized CNC Aluminum RGB Cherry MX Brown keyboard. Great keyboard, probably won't be buying a new keyboard anytime soon.
