Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. The Keyboard layouts doc he recommends explains layout goals and metrics in detail, summarizing the alt layouts discussed here as well as more than one hundred others. Actually I've found the answer myself. http://support.wasdkeyboards.com/customer/portal/articles/1438513-wasd-v2-vs-code I am a bit surprised that WASD V2 is only of single layer PCB. I am not sure what exactly single/dual layer means, but I've heard FILCO uses dual layers and claims to be the best PCB in mechanical keyboard filed.
The material of the pcb, thickness, circuit design and and production process is a what matters on a keyboard pcb.
Note: I do not have any pcb related education. I just like electronics and have it as a hobby.
