Can we have the rosewood stand in the next drop? I'm using these for my Audeze headphones and they do a much better job than the Sievekings at not crushing the ear pads.
My only beef with this is they didn't go whole hog. Walnut, Plywood and birch are pretty cheap materials for this kind of craftsmanship. I think there would be a lot less complaints if the artisan put another 50 bucks on the price and made them out of stuff like American holly, Box Elder Burl, or Brazilian Lacewood.
I would get this if it were 50% off.
You guys are missing the point. It features a platinum engraved brand plate. Not only is platinum expensive but it is also enhancing the overall tonality of your headphones. Cheap wooden stands cause degradation of signal and acoustic resonance. What the specially Codia designed patented Platinum Velodensity Technology™ does is gets rid of signal noise and purifies the airwaves which gets rid of the acoustic resonance when the headphone is in use. The cable knob on the back of this stand isn't an ordinary knob, it also acts as a dampener and a signal amplifier. Its no myth that regular wooden headphone stands cut your amp's power by more than HALF in most regular use scenarios. This knob acts as a dampening insulator which is like a bridge for the electric current to travel freely without impedance from the wood. For me it's well worth the money if you are a TRUE AUDIOPHILE. My golden ears sure know the difference between this premium headphone stand and all the other inferior products on the market.
Hueston
i dont understand this...why would it degrade it? is it playing while it's on the headphone stand and not on your head or something?

He is trolling.
These seems to have been available for $85 regular price a couple years ago. Looks like a horrible deal. You could make one for under $10 if you have the tools. Definitely not worth $100.
For what reason is the top of this concave? I feel like that dramatically reduces the functionality of this stand. I don't think it's even possible to properly hang a double headband type headphone on this.
It's too bad that the Canadian dollar is doing so poorly because I'd pick this up, but 140 cad shipped is a bit much

Hi All,
We reached out to our shipper today in regards to the group's order and it seems they have "misplaced" the group's order. We are working with them to resolve this at once, but are also prepared to place another order with the vendor if we don't get a solid response from the shipper soon.
Thanks for your patience and expect an update from us on 11/5 or sooner if something comes up.
Hi All,
These are scheduled to arrive in the next couple of days. We will keep an eye out for them and update the group as soon as they come in.
Thanks for your patience and expect an update from us on 10/30 or sooner if something comes up.
Hey Guys,
We spoke to the vendor yesterday and they let us know that the group's order will be shipping out from their warehouse towards the end of the week. Once we receive tracking we will keep an eye on the inbound order and update the group as soon as these arrive.
Thanks for your patience and expect an update from us on 10/28 or sooner if something comes up.

Hey everyone,

Now that the order has been placed, our vendor is preparing it for shipment. In the meantime, we will also be getting our warehouse ready to handle the reshipment of the product to everyone as soon as it arrives.
Expect an update from us on 10/13 or sooner if something comes up.

If you want a headphone stand, a cotton sack over a brick does the same job. No further discussion.
If you can afford luxuries such as fine furniture, this is a very well built headphone stand that looks excellent with other pieces of furniture. I ordered two of the Walnut finish, and they are quite consistent throughout. The shape is almost identical, they're not off-cuts of wood, the joints between the three pieces are flawless, the staining and satin finish is faultless. It also has quite a substantial weight when compared to the Sieveking Omega stands.

It's not overly difficult just a band saw and some sanding.
although I may have been exaggerating with the price.
If I had this in my house I would look like a complete snob, unless I told my visitors and friends I made it myself
Whether you have the tools and knowhow to make this is not the point. The vendor will do it for you if you pay for the work involved. That's an ages old practice. However the vendor has chosen a price point that, for the materials and time, is simply ridiculous. To me it appears the vendor has chosen to overprice this product and feels that, as it wouldn't sell sufficiently at a lower price point the "it costs +++, looks attractive, is a natural product, I spent a commensurate amount on my 'phones so it must be mega excellent" buyer will be compelled to purchase this. Is the vendor right or wrong in targetting perception over true value pricing, I can't say, I'm not a sales person. IMHO caveat emptor but to each their own.

All this type of stuff does is make rich people think that their 100 dollar hunk of wood is special because they paid a lot for it.
Is this the HS7 or the HS9?
I think the sceptics are exaggerating the lack of value here. It's not simply a question of the cost of raw materials and time. You can give me a nice block of wood and all the time in the world, but I don't have the equipment or the skills to produce this product and, I certainly would not have been able to come up with this exact design on my own.
We can debate whether it's worth the price, but there is more to a product the cost of raw materials and the amount of time it would take a skilled worker with the right equipment to copy someone else's design.
My $900 HiFiman headphones (fortunately still under warranty) were damaged by a poorly designed (ironically also HiFiman) stand which placed too much pressure on the connection point between the cable and the phones. That stand cost $19.99. Was it worth it?
I use a very advanced technique for hanging my headphones. It's called taking a nail, and driving it into the wall. Then taking a bit of hockey tape and covering the nail a bit so the end bit of the nail is a bit softer. I think this solution costs around $0.03

Congratulations on your solution, but it is not the final word for everyone.
Tape or no that amount of surface area will still leave an indent in many headphones' headband cushion. There are also many headphones, like the HD800, with which it is unwise to have rubbing and frequently bumping the wall.

I actually went out bought a piece of wood and used this thing called a marker to draw an outline on it. Then used a thing called a jigsaw to cut it out following my outline. Then I used this thing called sand paper and made it feel smooth. It was pretty difficult I would say probably harder than soldering together a bottlehead amp............
Great to see this back. Grabbed one of these when they were around not too long ago. Very happy with it!

LOL.
Nope, there are Japanese books in the background. There are no Sultans in Japan, only Emperors (old age). :D
Seriously though, this headphone stand is so expensive but I don't want to argue. It's how the creator value his work.
Gotta head now to my favorite how-to website...Instructables! And I found this! Hahahahah! Pun intended here..

I assume this is for people who don't have access to any kind of workshop or basic tools. I could have made one of these when I was in my Junior high shop class.
That said, I wish these guys wouldn't completely gouge people for not having the time or access to tools to make this for themselves. They spent MAX a 10th of this price on the raw materials and once they know what they're doing it probably takes less than an hour to complete one (ignoring drying time). They really ought to be ashamed of themselves. Prime example of capitalism at it's worst, "here, let's just take complete advantage of these idiots" is the exact phrase going through this "inventor's" head.
Completely disgusting, this drop better fail.

I don't believe wishing for the drop to fail helps the Massdrop community. There are those who appreciate what they see for the price they see and want the drop to succeed.
ronCYA
Actually I think that failed drops helps the Massdrop Community in the end. It sends a message to Massdrop about what we are interested in, instead of them picking for us. By doing so, Massdrop doesn't lose their clientele and we, the community, get products we want.
Wow... 99 dollars for one wooden headphone stand? Why is this so expensive?
Is this drop for the older HS-7 or the newer version HS-9 as indicated at http://cafe.naver.com/codia7/1371?

Super creepy tho.
Ramaka
No they don't.
Puts wear on your pads if it fits close. Looks cool, but it would be like someone always wearing them when you're not using them.

I'm gonna try one of these...two useful things in one purchase :P
Gezalinko
you can buy two of these and it'll still be cheaper than one of this drop. Shot glass to go with the booze.

I think I'll glue my wood together and cut it with a bandsaw.
CRMassdrop
Thinking the exact same thing; though I was thinking of making it a "skull" shaped thing or something along those lines.
