I have been considering the Code 4 ever since missing the drop here :( Now that I look into the AK-47, I wonder if it would be better, and am interested if anyone here has input. I am looking for a tough EDC, and have seen the Code 4 and AK-47 both used for batoning on YouTube. Not that I intend to do that, but would be nice to know they are that tough. I know these might be on the large size for ECD knives - I'm not too worried about size. I have big hands, and pockets. Since I don't have money filling the pockets, I figure I will fill them with something else :) Thank you!

GoAndDoCode 4: More dressy feel, slippery handle, shiny exposed metal AK-47: Tactical look, grippier handle, coated metal, really tight pocket clip

GoAndDoThe code 4 is a much better edc in my opinion. It carries better in the pocket, slides in easier, feels better in the hand (subjective I know).

IvanSpendalotThank you for the comparison. I almost feel like I want the Code 4, but should get the AK-47 :) I think I would like either. Still working on the decision!

GoAndDoThank you for the input. I think I know what you mean, and have felt myself leaning towards the Code 4. If I go with the AK-47 it will probably be because of the grip. I wish I could hit the Cold Steel parking lot sale in Ventura next month!!

GoAndDoI have both. The Code 4 is good for a pocket knife, the AK is either in a jacket pocket or backpack - that tight clip combined with the abrasive handle would eat through my pants in a week!
I've done batoning with both, but would definitely say that the AK feels like the stronger knife. Also, the AK's big, reinforced handle makes it better for heavy work.
