Cold Steel is known for its robust folding knives and absurdly strong locking mechanisms. The Recon 1 is no exception—and this version features a DLC-coated S35VN stainless steel blade for even better edge retention and resistance to the elements. Available as a clip-point or tanto, the blade is a solid 4 inches long for strenuous tasks. Textured G-10 makes up the handle, which has ergonomic, curved cutouts for proper finger placement. Machined holes on each side of the scales allow you to position the pocket clip for tip-up carry on either side. Backed by Cold Steel’s famous Tri-Ad lockback, the Recon 1 will stay strong through even the toughest jobs. To open it, use the dual thumbstuds and it will lock in place with authority.
