The Mighty Pen
Named for two-time Formula One World Champion Alberto Ascari, this Colibri pen set combines rugged construction, striking style, and comfortable handling. Both the rollerball and fountain pen have a metal alloy barrel, a snap-on cap with a hinged spring clip, and a finial appointed with the company logo. For a classic, streamlined look, choose the version with the polished chrome cap and smooth rubber grip. For something more understated, opt for the matte black version with a textured Pachmayr barrel—the same material used in handgun grips, recoil pads, and other firearm accessories.
Note: This drop’s base price is for the Colibri Ascari rollerball pen. At checkout, you may upgrade to the fountain pen (+$20) with a medium stainless steel nib. You’ll have your choice of finishes between Black Rubber/Polished Chrome and Matte Black. You'll also have the option to add a second roller ball pen (+$85) or a second fountain pen (+$105).
A History of Innovation
Colibri was born in 1928, when founder Julius Lowenthal invented the world’s first semi-automatic lighter: the Swiss-made Colibri Original. Over the years, the company has established a legacy of innovation in lighters, introducing the first visible multiple gas refill, hydraulic auto-flint system, and non-battery, non-flint system—and even created the eponymous weapon for the James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun. In the 1980s, helmed by the third generation of Lowenthals, Colibri expanded its product line to include luxury pens, wristwatches, and more.
