RayFThat situation is impossible to equate with this one. The consumers on MD are all grown adults, and this isnt a product encouraging smokers. Anyone who would buy this without already having a use for it is an idiot. There's nothing wrong with providing a luxury product that equates to a steel bowl in a block of wood. Everyone knows smoking is dangerous, but guess what? Tobacco products already come with the warnings.

Subsidies are available up to 400% of the poverty line for individuals and families on a sliding scale based on income. Works for me, because I'm self-employed :- )

RayFRay, I'm sure you have your misgivings about smoking and tobacco products, but the fact of the matter is that an ashtray isn't going to make or break it for anyone who already smokes, nor is it going to make anyone pick up smoking. Also, no one is going to be out and about smoking while carrying around an ashtray, this is clearly for private use, which is going to be away from anyone who doesn't want to be exposed to smoking. MD has no moral obligation to police their customers habits or to refrain from selling things customers want to buy. If the drop did poorly, they wouldn't sell it again. This conversation has taken away from the comments and anyone with actual questions or curiosity about the product is going to have a hard time finding answers in this bloated mess of an argument.

Since forever, actually but the Surgeon General's report that finally and officially reported the truth about the "bad for us" bit came out in 1964. Guessing that was w-a-y before you were born, but the subject might have been covered in Health Class--assuming you attended school in this country (or at all), but incase any of that escaped your attention, it's printed on the package in most countries (as required by law).
Now that we've cleared up your bullshit concerns, which actually turned out to be your own ignorance of commonly known facts most eight-year olds could have hipped you to, lets move on to my concerns ;- )
When you used the term "honestly" were you intending to imply you were actually being honest, or did you just add that part for the dramatic irony? When you say you've walked away from many drops, could you put a number on that? Many is such a vague term and judging from your Drop history, it either means you've walked away from every Drop MD ever had, except for that headphone stand you bought, or it means you've only walked away from drops where someone pointed the health risks associated with the product--so, you know, you should clear that part up--just say'n.
And that part about the reviews you feel were MIA from the drop's comment section? That's because no one left them, not because I typed over them. You should be pissed at all the guys who bought this thing, and then thoughtlessly used it, without telling you how great it worked (or you know, didn't)--not me, I'm the innocent one here. Hell, if I bought one, I'd have left a review. I didn't buy one, but if I did, my review might have gone something like this:
Okay, I bought this ashtray on Amazon and paid a lot more for it, and I hate it because every time I use it, I significantly increase my risk of Oral Cancer, and I "contribute to the deaths of 5.6 million children alive today, who will ultimately die early from smoking if (I) do not do more to reduce current smoking rates.* " So, would I buy it again? Probably not.

Now, if you were to say something more like..."I know cigars (like any other tobacco product) put me at a significantly higher risk for a whole heap of bad things, but I just don't give a good-god-damn about it"-- Well, then you'd sound better-informed, while effecting a sort of "devil-may-care" attitude on the subject--you know, kinda James Bond-ish? Now there was guy who smoked ever one his custom-made cigarettes as if it might be his last--and for good reason. But unless you're in a line of work where life expectancy pre-empts collecting Social Security, I wouldn't stay on that tac too long. I mention that because it's hard say'n longer sentences in general, through those little vibrators that you hold up to your neck (you know, like where your larynx used to be?) in order for folks to hear you speak.

If you reread read what I wrote, I acknowledge that it isn’t 100% safe. I also mention other items that people consume in far greater quantities and thus have a higher likelihood to cause damage.
And no, puffing on a cigar is not the same as smoking a cigarette. There are far less carcinogens in cigars than cigarettes. Additionally, having good oral hygenie an counter much. again, is it 100% risk free? No. But there are many other things that we all do daily that are worse. If you occasionally enjoy a cigar, your risks are super high.
