Much like everyone else here, I should have read the discussion before buying. It writes the same as if you just scraped a stick on a piece of paper. You can sort of make out that you wrote anything, but not really. Total waste of money. D:

This was going to be a birthday gift for a to-be artist, but I ended up hating the pen so much myself that I decided not to force it unto my friend. (The texture against the paper makes me cringe so bad... and the price just makes me wish I hadn't gotten it at all) Definitely should've checked out the comments before purchasing anything.

Note to self: check the discussion for bad reviews before joining future drops. Great info guys, just wish I had brains enough to read it sooner.

The description says it's a pen that never needs sharpening. To my recollection i never had to sharpen a pen, but that's just me.

So, Uncommon Carry has been rebranded to Collective Carry, and still sells cheap noname stuff at 2x/3x prices?

AtlantaTomIts called dropshipping
This sure looks exactly like what you'll find on Amazon if you search for Designer Automatic Pencil Everlasting Pencil. Except the one on Amazon is less than half the price of this one. Honestly, this looks like novelty from Aliexpress where one manufacturer makes it and eight million companies try to sell it as their own .

This is very very old technology. In fine arts it's called silverpoint. A small piece of silver at the tip of a pen holder was used to make a drawing. As i under stand it, the silver reacts chemically and oxidizes against the paper. Its permanent and lasts nearly forever. You can see some da vinci silverpoints in museums around the world. This is definitely a cool modern twist, but you can get the same basic thing from any decent art supply store

Massdrop, is there any way we could get a sample in the pictures as well? (i.e. something written/drawn with the pen)

Never seen an “inkless” pen before. Has anyone here used one before? How does it feel?
