1) I owned Colorfly C4 Pro for 5 years and haver never regret buying it at the price ~1000$. Those who talk badly about it especially without auditioning it are rationally sick people. It does not matter, how many years will pass - C4 will always have the strongest punch and one of the most natural sounding signature in the game. 2) There are two different sides of music which cannot get along with like northern and southern poles. There is "natural" and digital musics which derive from the instruments they are performed on. Jazz, classical, Ethnic, folk, vocal, solo instrumental music are types of such natural group which uses instruments (piano, violin, harp...) created from surrounding materials - wood, iron, biological human voice etc...While disco, pop, electronic, hip-hop, D'n'B, club etc...are created in digital immaterial environment. Natural music sounds best with tubes, while digital with solid states. Check "Z Reviews" for that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeNFZEMSRVc 3) So C4 Pro, even though has no tubes, but has somehow authentic soundsignature of tube-like sound. All natural music sounds fantastic...especially strings and vocals. It is very detailed and real high resolution with tons of air. It plays digital music good, richly as well. Bass is very tight and punchy - no android DAP can compete with it. Mids are clear as purest water in the glass. Highs are enormously real, sweet and soft. The presentation is neutral - no frequencies crossover each other - everything on its place. The sound has a little bit of coloration, but it is implemented for best outcome and serves as a spicy in the food. No bugs at all. It is the most stable device I owned ever. Moreover, 6.3 jack is the must for DAPs (which no DAPs have at all except dx100) to use with full size cans - the sound from there is so much fuller and more powerful. 3.5 jack is good for iems, earbuds. The feel of premium product is there. I used it usually with XBA-Z5 and LCD-3 (and tried HD700, HD800, HD 650, T90, Ultrasone Palladium, akg 3003i, ie800) at home and outside (shop, buses, plains, streets). Wood is much more practical then metal polish of majority modern DAPs. Volume button (even though the build quality could be better as well as the build of other buttons) is top-notch and super-fast in contrast to fiio, AK, iBasso, Lotoo, Hugo, Mojo, Mini-m8 and any other DAP and amp\dacs on the market. It is a big boy, bulky, manslish device - no pussies allowed. The only thing I would improve is instrument separation and increase sound stage. 4) Currently, for few months, I own Fiio X7 on android. After 3 years of it's existence Fiio have just realized new stable firmware which is again has many bugs. The only reason of the switch was the need of android device with internet, LO and external DAC function, so I could not keep both devices. I must confess, C4 Pro has better soundsignature and delivers more joy than any other device, but modern flagmans has more superior technical properties. Though, no mid-level DAPs like dx80,90, ak100-120ii, fiio X1-5 ii etc can stand against C4. It's improved successor is Lotoo Paw Gold which leaves no chances even for ak380.

At 350$ for magical C4 Pro it is a good buy today. In 10 years, probably no, but today - yes.
