Product Description
The Commander series is designed for fans of MTG’s social qualities. A convenient entry point for players who are interested in the format, this set features four decks, each with 100 ready-to-play cards, a deck box, 10 token cards, a strategy insert, and a rules reference guide Read More
To think that by this time last year they had reprinted the commander 2017 set because demand was so high, and the decks were selling at outrageous prices.
As of 8/30/2018, the 4 Legendary cards from each deck (so 16 cards) are by themselves $62.00 if purchased individually on TCGPlayer.com.
The NEW cards (not any reprints), if purchased separately, by themselves, is about 62.00 on TCGPlayer.com. Haha, I didn't even mean for that to average about the same cost equally
So that's about $124 USD worth of cards to get the new cards printed in this Commander release.

Wolfx_1979Prices Christmas day 2018:
Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow - 5.24
Windgrace - 4.40
Estrid - 2.40
Saheeli - 2.93
Aminatou - 2.98
Adding the rest still wouldn't make 30 bucks I believe. This set was, sadly, a bust.
leova...but its still a good buy, $28 each is a heckuva deal for 4 commander decks, let alone these that will likely form the basis for 3-4 other solid fun decks you can build out :)
Not a bad price, but unless you're brand new to the format, you're not going to get much value out of these lists. Some of the new legends are cool, but I'd just wait and buy them as singles.
Looks like this is the best deal out there right now. On gamenerdz, where the preorder was for $120, it’s gone up to $125.
The set bottomed out on TCGPlayer at $120 but has since come back up to ~$127.
This is a great price. I don't believe you will see this for much less then 110$ in the coming months. the decks are actually fairly good for beginners and only need a few upgrades to make them better. the new print cards are flavorful minus a few secondary commanders lol hmm(spider?).
I love the land Matters Jund deck. it is awesome and really fun to play.
the 8 year old planeswalker is one of my new favorite characters in magic.
I'm not to confident about the other decks but I imagine this set will hit the standard 40$ per deck within the first few months. so get them while you can at 30$
is this the same people who speculated that Nexus of fate wasn't gonna be a standard card lol?
Commander is a solid product from Wizards, every year it is met with some hesitation, but eventually is realized as a good buy, overall. some decks over others obviously.
with the price hike, there are a lot of people backing away cause they don't want to spend more money. That is an absolutely great idea. if the player base refuses to spend more on a product either the price will have to come down to meet customer demand, or the product will have to disappear for the company to remain profitable. also if players and fans of magic only purchase at certain price points Wizards will have to adjust.
honestly I think to make the price increase more tolerable I think they should have started offering a foil in every pack like they were with master series.
