Our sizing is not true to size.
The tagged size is just a reference number and has no relation with the true size of the waist.
We use similar size grading as of most popular brands, which most of them have real waists a few inches larger than the tagged size number.
As an example, I used to wear W31 in other brands and wear W31 in Companion too. Same happens with other Companion customers.
have in mind that the measure of the waist is taken in flat then doubled to get the waist contour.
If necessary, sizing down or up is always an option.
The pattern on this style has been used for a few years, and has proofed to fit well.
Companion's vanity sizing always leaves me scratching my head. I mean, plus 2 or 3 inches is usually the "norm". But, a size 32 having an actual waist of 36"? The worst part is, if you have a 35" waist like mine, you can't go down to a 31, since that's a 33.75" true size. So, your options are too loose, or way too tight.
YabosMcGeeYeah. Difficult to see who are they trying to please by using such garbage-tier sizing scheme. By looking at the measurements chart you'd expect the denim to be unsanforized and bound to shrink by 10% where it matters, but instead they considered it hilarious to have the waist-measurements off by up to 5 inches. -.- What's the point? Do they think someone with a 39" waist will feel better rocking jeans tagged 34"?
Making the measurements chart available is commendable, of course, and people should pay careful attention before ordering.
The model has extremely thin legs and slim butt.
The cut of a garment is developped to fit an average of guys, not a single person.
We have been working this pattern for a few years now and it has proofed to fit very well, the photos on the model may not do justice.
Note also that raw denim never fits as good on the first days as it will after the break-in time.
