$174.99 is a lot of dollars for a pair of jeans! I mean… These aren’t Jordash or Sergio Valente right? I just don’t get it what’s the deal other than the beautiful description and a machine that’s older than me!

DrummingManIt's true that this product won't tickle everyone's fancy. The essential appeal of jeans that fall into the raw denim category is that a) the customer knows the provenance of the item and b) the denim is not pre-distressed in any way by the time the customer gets a hold of the product.
There are many particulars about the supply chain and construction of raw denim that are a bonanza for denim hobbyists, a bunch of boxes that get ticked by neither 'mall brand' jeans nor 'high fashion' designer jeans. The materials sourcing, labor ethics, dye method, warp and weft combination, weave density, deliberate irregularities, selvedge finish, fabric weight, etc. A plethora of bells and whistles for denimheads to drool over.
Aside from the initial sanforization (process of wash and stretch to shrink and smooth the fabric) these jeans are basically 'unadulterated' (some people even prefer to forgo sanforization and shrink the denim themselves). The jeans instead conform to your body and become distressed as they take on the character of your lifestyle; put another way, your pants tell your story.
Not everybody's cup of tea, of course. But there's a few of us out here, taking deep sips.
