An Ideal Entry Point

After looking through all the options in all the Mechanical keyboard polls, a few features have emerged as favorites within the Massdrop community. Chief among them are Cherry MX Brown switches, plate mounted construction, textured keycaps, front printed legends, and a Tenkeyless layout. After analyzing keyboards from every manufacturer available, it was clear that one product came closest to meeting all these criteria. An excellent starting point for your interface based journey, the CM Storm Quick Fire TK Stealth is available at the best price possible.

For this drop there is a limited number of Blue and Brown switches available.

Right the First Time

Of all the Cherry switches currently in major production, Cherry MX Brown switches are the favorite based on Massdrop votes. These two switch types represent the quietest and the loudest tactile switches and they both give you a training tool to prevent bottoming-out (pressing a switch past the midpoint where it actuates). The textured front printed keycaps area some of the most enjoyable stock keycap sets to type on. Front printing keeps the keycap surface texture uniform and it also means the printing wont fade since you’re not touching the legends directly. An optimal choice we’ve seen in the top options from many polls.

It’s The Little Things

The difference between a good keyboard and a great keyboard comes in very small increments. Little changes like allowing for a removable cable with multiple exit points means this keyboard can fit into any desk arrangement without issue. 12KRO over USB (and not claiming NKey - Good on you CM Storm!) makes for driverless install without sacrificing performance. The keycaps’ sculpted profile makes for a more ergonomic typing experience. Finally, the selectively placed LEDs highlighting the windows button lock, media keys, and turbo mode (kinda cheating but losers should attend jelly school) make for a welcome accent to the otherwise dark keyboard. All in, the Quick Fire Stealth is one of the most affordable Cherry MX Brown switch keyboards available with some of the best stock keycaps around and extra features seen anywhere close to this price range.
