Established in 1955 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, a Swiss town located in the Jura mountains near the French border, Corum has consistently pushed the boundaries of innovation with its exotic case designs, unique movements, and unconventional style. The Artisan Heritage 1957 pays tribute to one of its first designs: a dressy, minimally styled 38-millimeter mechanical watch set on an alligator strap. The real gem of this watch is its 17-jewel manual wind movement, which is visible via the exhibition caseback. Winding the watch feels like turning back time to another era. Aesthetically, the watch has a classic, polished silver look set on a light gray dial. Seconds are tracked by the free-floating crosshair-style subdial at 6 o’clock. The dial is protected by a stainless steel case and sapphire crystal, owing to water resistance of 30 meters.
