I wanted to shed some additional light on the abrupt closure. We were given the product by an authorized Asian distributor who OKed the drop, but on the first day the product was live I was made aware that the timing conflicted with the official U.S. distributor.

They've invested a significant amount of effort in bringing the product overseas to offer it to North America, and I didn't feel it was right to jump in and reap the benefits. Refunds should be processing for all members who joined the drop before it closed. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Good question. There was also a significant risk of orders not being fulfilled due to the conflict. The period between the drop end date and my previous post was me talking to the manufacturer/distributor to see if we could still deliver the units to the members who originally joined the drop. Unfortunately, the answer was no.

It sucks having a drop canceled. It would suck more if we let the drop run, had hundreds of members join, then have it turn out that we're unable to deliver. It was my call to nip this one in the bud before it potentially came to that point. If you have any additional questions, I'll try to answer the best I can.
Oh, ok, that makes more sense :)
What's the status on this? Didn't even get a notification that this was cancelled - just found out by visiting comments here, charge is still on my credit card
For the others who joined this drop: I received a reply from Massdrop support today, saying they have processed my credit card refund.
At your request? Or is there some problem with the drop?
It was at my request, but I made it aware that I wasn't the only one who had been charged for a canceled drop. Not sure how effective that was for others, though.

It's been brought to my attention that there is a possible conflict that I wasn't aware of before, so I'm pulling the plug until I learn more. I'll provide an update as soon as I get the full picture, so sit tight while we work through the particulars on this drop. Sorry about that, and thanks for your patience.

Yeah, if there's a problem, why are we being charged?
Has there been any progress?
The headfi review mentions it doesn't work with USB3 ports... which seems to screw over modern Mac (and perhaps modern PC?) users... Anyone know if that was a glitch in early-release review HW?
Cozoy says $99 purchases will not be honored.
Just saw it here as well:
Have you guys seen this?
would this be able to provide enough power for an on ear headphone? thinking bout using this with the vmoda xs, would I need a separate amp?
Oh twist my arm... I'm curious.
edit: just saw shipment date of April 8 far below.
For anyone who hasn't seen it, there's already a review by Head-Fi user twister6.
The design looks good, but the stripped screws seem too obvious and raise the alarm about its build quality.

I'm not sure those are torx considering I see five points and my torx tools are six pointed. Am I crazy or am I seeing stripped screws?
It looks like a normal pentalobe screw to me.
