We've just received shipping confirmation from our vendor. Our order should be delivered to our warehouse this Thursday, and our team will be standing by to ensure that your individual orders are turned around as quickly as possible. Once everything is shipped, tracking confirmation emails will follow.
Expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 4/12 or sooner if something comes up.
Anyone else notice that MD keeps pushing the date for everything?
We just touched base with our vendor, and there's been a delay on their Craftsman shipment. Craftsman is currently in the process of moving warehouses, so lead times have been longer than expected. Right now, our vendor expects to receive their order some time next week, but they are still working on getting some concrete dates for us. We'll be in regular contact and update the group the minute we get word back.
We understand that the additional wait time is undesirable. If you prefer not to wait for your order and want to have it cancelled, please reach out via the "Contact Support" button in your transactions page. https://www.massdrop.com/transactions
Expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 4/5 or sooner if something comes up.
Our vendor has informed us that inventory will become available to them within the next few days. They will be working hard to prepare this order for shipment and aim to send it from their location by the end of the week. We are currently trending for everything to be shipped out of our warehouse before the estimated ship date of 4/1.
Expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 3/29 or sooner if something comes up.
**EDIT: Pushing Date Out
Thanks again for joining this drop! We have submitted the group's order with the vendor for the Craftsman 18-inch Breaker Bar and they are working hard to prepare it for shipment.
As soon as the group's order is ready at the vendor's location, they will send the bulk shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey where our warehouse team will break it up into individual orders and ship them. The current estimated ship date from our warehouse is 4/1.
We will keep the group updated throughout the fulfillment process. You can expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 3/21.

How is this a "deal"? Wait until April for it to ship and pay the same price as I would if I went and picked it up at Sears? Come on Massdrop let's get some real deals up here.
This is a breaker bar.... Why would it even matter if it was made in the US. For tools with few moving parts folks in the US can go to Harbor Freight. For folks outside the US, why would you pay to ship a lump of metal that far?

Who cares? If it bends/breaks, bring it to any Sears or Craftsman store and get a new one for free, no questions asked. For life.

Obviously people care, myself being one. Not everyone is the same, and some people have different beliefs. I personally will not support sears/craftsman because when they outsourced they kept prices the same as if it was US made.
Is this made in China like the rest of their tools now? Or actual USA quality?

This one is china made. you can still find the USA made ones if you shop the Craftsman Industrial stuff. I bought mine online in a set with a shorter breaker bar and a slide bar, all US made, but specifically "Craftsman Industrial". The China made stuff is notably thicker due to the lower grade steel used. They're heavier and bulkier, and for something like a breaker bar, where I'm putting significant force on it, I spend the extra money and buy US made. I'm not worried about the tool breaking, I'm worried about what my hand/body hits when the tool breaks. They can't replace that.
This is the one I got a year ago, but it looks like its no longer available: http://www.sears.com/craftsman-professional-use-5-piece-drive-tool-set/p-00948985000P?redirectType=SRDT
Search the part number and you may be able to find it elsewhere.

This. Exactly this for everyone else wondering why people still prefer USA quality when it comes to Craftsman.
Thanks for the info. I didn't know about the "Industrial" line!
15$ shipping to canada ....... Ill pass.
I don't mind the posts regarding prices elsewhere, it's the ones where someone rushed to post it and looked up a completely different model or did not factor in shipping which looks free at first, but is not for that particular item, that are unhelpful and confusing. Like it or not, Massdrop is not always the cheapest, fastest or most sensible option depending on what your situation is. There's nothing wrong with pointing that out, accurately.
I like it when people post Amazon links but I still usually buy from Massdrop because it is always less - sometimes a little, sometimes a lot - and if I don't need it right away then don't mind waiting and supporting Massdrop whenever I can

Same here as well. There may be additional savings of sales tax from Amazon or other re sellers depending on where you live. It's Craftsman so 0 worries about warranty service if I'm able to figure out some way to break it (or if defective out of the box, I did have one 1/4" extension in a set of tools with the little keeper ball missing and sears traded it no problem and I actually ended up with a slightly fancier extension).
I have exact same thing, but I bought it back in the early eighties, when I used to swap out winter tires on my car. If they are still made the same way, you'll never need to buy another.

Made in china now. Apparently a lot of people have problems with them getting bent under not so heavy loads.

Good thing it's Craftsman so you can just get another one for free.
This is ment to whack people with, right?

>"It's like standing outside Target and telling everyone who enters that Wal-Mart has their items cheaper. I'm surprised that Massdrop admins haven't yet restricted these sort of posts."
Massdrop admins have specifically said that they will never ban these types of comments, because in doing so they'd be putting themselves above and before the community. And I think that's a pretty fair and positive policy.
On this particular drop the Amazon link may not have been that helpful, but I've seen loads of helpful comments on other drops that help others save money or buy smarter. That's sort of what this site is about-- saving money and buying smarter.
If massdrop started censoring comments to help their profits I'd definitely stop using the site. Just my perspective!
Yeah Edge you were fine until you got to the "not everyone gives..." Come man that's just totally not cool at all.
And boys and girls, remember Amazon prices change often and quickly. I really appreciate the links to other sites for comparison. It does make things easier. And I can make a decision about buying here or someplace else.
