6a73Say what you will. I have been using this mouse and keyboard for some time now and I really like it. The RGB lighting effects are the best and brightest I have seen. In the keyboard the custom digital Omrom switches are the fastest response times you will find in a mechanical switch. The mouse has the Pixart 3360 sensor and does not disappoint. I am with you I was skeptical at first but once I tried it I realized they were legit.

6a73Let me ask a question then...
Logitech mice and keyboards make sense...but Logitech headsets? Razer mice and keyboards make sense...but Razer headsets? Asus motherboards but mice and keyboards and headsets?
You see what I'm getting at here?
It seems like because we have "Sound" in our name that seems to make some people feel like that should be a limiting factor to what we produce, or that we don't have expertise in other areas of engineering and technology. When it couldn't be further from the truth. As an example we're the manufacturer for all of the Intel RealSense developer kits. This is all about optics and imagery and sensors and all kinds of cutting edge technology. They went with us because we have a very versatile and dedicated engineering team that excels and integrating new tech into products.
It's true that at Creative / Sound Blaster we're known for our sound cards and audio products. We were there at the BEGINNING of PC Gaming. The VERY beginning. Like 30 years ago beginning.
We've made mice and keyboards over the years, so this isn't our first foray into the market. We were one of the first companies to introduce laser mice to the market...weighted gaming mice to the market...resolution switching to the market. Look it up..all true.
We changed course to focus on the MP3 market (which was BOOMING at the time) and the peripheral device category took a back seat.
So with that being said...when we spun out the Sound BlasterX brand to be our gaming brand we had from the very beginning an intention to come back to the space so that we'd have a full line of gaming peripherals that complimented and integrated with each other. That included mice and keyboards. We also knew we wanted to develop these products and not just take the easy route of buying an off the shelf model of a product and slapping our name on it.
Thus you have the PRES keys which we developed with Omron and the feature set of the Vanguard (USB pass through, volume wheel, media keys, macro keys, etc).
We take the input device category seriously and have dedicated engineering resources to it and will continue to do so as the line continues to evolve and develop.
We' re extremely proud of the Sound BlasterX peripherals and are pretty excited about the initial response to the product from the community. We DO know we have a lot of competition and a lot to prove, and we will continue to strive to compete and prove ourselves with products that aren't clones of each other, but with unique feature sets and their own place in the gaming community.

DigitalRonynWow, insanely detailed reply to my low-effort troll. I have to at least admit your communication is on point :) And very well said as well. Do not take my light joke as criticism, always nice to see more competition in this area.

6a73Oh no worries at all!
Definitely got the joke.. I just have had this question asked a fair bit and thought I could use your post as an opportunity to talk a bit more about the rationale behind our move to re - enter the space.
Cheers!

DigitalRonynLets not forget Creative's effort in the graphics card market during the early Nvidia days.
