I also wrote this comment on the E5 drop previously. I have the E3 from the first time it was dropped. No issues with my unit. If you're wondering what the different chips are in the E3 and the E5, here is the comparison. Yes, the E5 has higher end chips in it, but the E3 definitely isn't bad by any means for the price, and is still a strong portable amp choice imo.
E3: - DAC is TI PCM5122 (112db) - Amp is Maxim MAX97220A - Bluetooth 2.1+EDR - Smaller, fits on belt clip E5: - DAC is Cirrus Logic CS4398 (120db) - Amp is TI TPA6120A2 - Bluetooth 4.1 - Has better/more mics, a desktop stand
