Is it not intended to charge these at the same time you use them? I've had one for about a year now that I got with my Beyerdynamic DT-880's to drive the 600ohm cans. It sounds great when used on battery power, but when I try to use the line-in + headphones out and charge it with microusb at the same time it gets really loud crackling/popping. It doesn't seem to matter what cable or power brick/portable battery I use with it. Is it trying to get data from power only sources when I charge it that way?

epsilon748Have the same problem with the E1. Got rid of the crackling/popping in 3 steps: 1. unplugging the line in and using only the microusb cable. 2. In audio control panel, in playback devices make the Sound Blaster E1 device the default device. 3 In your music/audio player settings, under audio playback device, select Sound Blaster E1 or default device(which is Sound Blaster)

epsilon748Hm, I don't really have that problem. I'm using the optical in from the Mac, and an AuKey charger to charge it (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BBYJQ5I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00, using a non-QuickCharge port for it) and some random Micro-USB cable I had lying around. On the other hand, if I connect my LG G4 to the E5 (to mix audio from the phone and the laptop), I get bad static noises from the phone - but that's because its sending (bad) audio, I think.
