I am not an audiophile. I have this. This product made me realize how overpriced everything is on the audio world is. If you have REGULAR ears and "midfi" headphones like me ( k7xx / senheiser 600/650 etc) this is all you need. After hours of A/Bi ng against SMSL M8 (ES9018K2M 2.15 Vrms) + O2 i honestly cannot tell the difference between the 2, and that cost me exactly twice the money, and it does not have mic input, bluetooth, amazing creative software, is not portable etc. From an audiophile perspective i read that the m8 and o2 are too analytical, transparent and a lot of good and bad fancy audiophile language, the E5 is supposedly "warm" sounding. To my bad (regular) ears they sound exactly the same.
Power wise, E5 on High gain sounds about the same as the M8 (2.15 vrms) and O2 on 2.5X gain (more than enough for the Senheiser HD600)
