Just wanted to throw out there for people who don't know, and for some of the people recommending other products. Are there better products in the price range? Yes. BUT one reason I purchased an X7 over a year ago, and continue to use it, is the major advantage it has over the competition, that being the X7 can mix all audio inputs together at the same time with independent volume levels on each and all controlled from 1 single unit. That alone was enough for me to justify paying the asking price for the unit over another brands.

PinkBoxso is mixing voice and game chat as easy as turning a physical knob like the astro mixamp or do I have to open the app everytime to turn down game and chat volume respectively? im stoked for the upgrade but that is the one downside that is KILLING me right now. when my whole team dies and it becomes a 1 v 5, i just crank my knob to 95% game audio and it takes 1 second. If its all app based then when im getting rushed itll take be a second to turn my phone off standyby, another few seconds to open it and fumble through the menu, another second of actually pulling it down; oh im dead already gg.

suppliceI have personally never had a need to suddenly adjust game volumes independently mid game, with that being said, there is an app available in the playstore that you can use to achieve what you are looking for. Even with a multi monitor setup I personally keep a tablet docked up on my desk for companion apps and etc.
I take it you are console gaming rather than PC gaming with this amp? After you have appropriately setup this amp for your gaming needs, and assuming you buy a decent set of cans to go with it if you are not using something other than astro cans, I think you will find that you have no reason to crank any volumes under any circumstance as everything will be clear and easily audible for you at that point, getting away from astro will be a nice upgrade and the X7 is a wonderful entry level device.

PinkBoxmy game volumes always cranked, thats not what i was asking. i was asking how fiddly it was to adjust game mix (game audio and chat audio on seperate tracks) in app because from waht i understand that is the only way you can do it (im still not even 100% sure if its a actual mixer). i was just explaining how easy it is on the astro and was wondering if theres any way to replicate that ease on the x7. I alrady know theres a app cuz i mentioned it in my original post....
im assuming you thought i bought the astro bundle, no i solely bought the mixamp for the functionality of having a game and chat audio mixer.
if im being difficult im sorry but i just see complaints left and right about the app in the google play store and you didnt necessarily answer my question.

suppliceYou unfortunately can not change this on the fly. However, it's really easy to balance. I game semi-competitively and have no issues with this on ps4. Top tip: instead of using Bluetooth to control, use the USB host. On ps4, chat audio levels are controlled by the ps4, not the amp. You won't miss your mixamp for long.

Obsidian409Ive been running the x7 for a few months now what i hate is when someone starts ear raping me i cannot just quickly mute them and the volume knob doesnt even do anything. I have to do the pain in the ass steps of going through the phone app waiting for it to load and then turning volume down, its retarded. also with the bt-w2 dongle to be able to have chat capabilities on ps4 it causes a high frequency signal to be audible through my headphones at high volumes. it causes brain tumors after a hour of playing, nobody else seems to notice this and i wonder if they just have bad hearing or if i have a faulty unit. I dont think that seems to be the case because it seems to only happen when bluetooth dongle is connected to the x7, if i mute it outright or mute the last 2 frequency i dont hear it so it definitely the dongle causing it. when someone speaks in party chat since a transmission is being sent the high pitch signal stops, but as soon as theres radio silence and nothing is being transmitted i hear these high frequency beeps that just causes massive headaches.
if i unplug it outright i never get any frequency problems, but i cant use mic to chat.

suppliceAre you running your machine in direct mode? (enabling direct mode disables the x7 dsp. Can cause ps4 artifacts to amplify). If so, disable it. I have zero issues with bleeping or static or buzzing from the BT-W2. It's possible that yours is defective or your settings are wrong? It has taken me a while to fully learn the ideal setup of the device as it can be finicky. I have to say though, biggest improvement was the firmware upgrade. If you haven't upgraded, do it.
I am waiting on a pair of 6xx, currently using some AKG240PRO II.

Obsidian409followed ideal setup diagrams everywhere online, chat audios set, opticals set, bt-w2 is set in devices. i use direct mode for when i use speakers, line in is muted so the hissing from that is disabled ill try flashing the firmware but i do feel like its my bt-w2 and a rare case of my ps4. (its the white destiny launch one so its pretty old.) it sounds like its amplifying a signal from the disc spin or voltage issue near that area inside the ps4 (i think i can hear it audibly without my headphones on) because i dont get the problem if i plug the dongle into a PC.
the 6xx are nice but i dont like them for FPS, i use my 6xx for sim racing and i dont have to deal with the BT-W2 frequency because i disable it to focus on the sound and racing. i prefer the AKG701s or AD700x for FPS

suppliceRight on! Made a big difference for me too. Bluetooth was a pain.
The firmware update made a big difference for the Bluetooth reliability though..
Try turning off direct mode. It will allow the x7 take over audio processing from the ps4.. That might also help you.

Obsidian409so i tried a ground loop isolator, did nothing but make everything quieter.
https://1drv.ms/u/s!AmAN0uYQVq4CgX2Wth1XT04E91j6
i bumped the impedance to 300 ohm to capture it from my phone but that ringing is what i hear anytime i use the bt w2. i think i might have to contact creative but i hear its a nightmare getting through. dont feel like buying a new one because i dont feel like it would work still

suppliceThis is just a shot in the dark and I could be barking up the wrong tree, but that sounds like an amp issue with regarding the noise floor - could be related to grounding out in the amp or the ps4. The sound reminds me of having an audio jack not fully inserted. I would recommend putting up a post about it on Head-fi.org.
I have contacted Creative through their live chat and was able to get some help there - you could try that too.
Side note: the aftermarket headphone cable I bought for my AKG's was not compatible with the x7, just always sounded like it was missing a channel even though it worked perfectly on another amp. Try switching the cabling Also. If there is anything else I can help with, send me an email, my username@gmail.

Obsidian409so far ive tried many different headphones and cables. i get crystal clear audio when bluetooth is muted. the pink noise isnt a problem, thats coming from having high gain on low impedance headphones to amplify the sound to record on the phone. im more concerned with the beeping. ill give creative a email hoping that massdrops warranty is in effect. thanks for actually motivating me to get this fixed, ive just been dealing with brain tumors for the past few months lol.

suppliceHey there Supplice,
Can you contact me at socialmedia@creativelabs.com. I want to get my engineering folks on this for you and see if we can get you a solution. Definitely sounds like it's not working as intended...and I know the product team members will want to try and recreate on our side.
Thanks!

DigitalRonynContacted and havent heard back for 6 weeks. Tried following up and reaching out to you and Arjey from support with no success. Seems like whenever I work with support its either "I'll talk to the team" or "I'll check on it for you" and I never get a response. If the team has no answers can we TRY something at least instead of beating around the bush and further pushing me out of my warranty? I just want it working as advertised.
Ill include a updated audio sample if anyone else has the same problem or has a solutions cuz I've tried over 20 different troubleshooting solutions with their support team and it always turns into ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ when it doesnt work.
https://1drv.ms/u/s!AmAN0uYQVq4Cgh5wdPZKGayPQxwg tell me that isnt normal.

suppliceHmm, I haven't seen any recent communication from you in my mail box, just double checked my filter as well.
Supplice, send me another mail at the address above and we'll swap out the unit to see if it rectifies the problem. The engineering team has been unable to reproduce in house. The sound file is definitely not the intended output.
