This is the best internal sound card, I have one in my PC it works great. There are some small things that I would change, but for the most part it has great sound. I would recommend if you are more of a audiophile and less of a gamer and a amp is an option to you then get the external. But if you need an internal sound card that I built with gamers in mind this is where it is at. Also this soundcard is terrible if you want to record an instrument onto ableton, fl studio, logic, etc. too much latency unless it's a mic.

Orad, I'd love to hear your suggestions for improvement and am curious about the latency you're experiencing. Can you fire me a mail at socialmedia@creativelabs.com so I can get some more information from you (and to convey to our dev / QA teams)?

I have the SoundBlaster Zx, SoundBlaster ZxR, Asus Essence Stx II, Aune X1S(external), and Fostex HP-A4BL(External) The soundblasters are the worst as far as sound quality, they are bright/harsh, and tough to listen to for a long period of time. They do however have pretty good 3D sound positioning for gaming. There isn’t much difference between Zx and ZxR. The Asus Essence STX II is a much better solution for audiophile/listening to music. Horizontal sounds are much easier to pinpoint direction but sounds up and down are a little bit more difficult to hear (for gaming). the asus sounds much smoother and creamier. the Fostex is my favorite of all the ones I own because it is also smooth and creamy (slightly less than asus) without losing accuracy and detail. for internal I would recommend asus. Aune is very basic and gets the job done, and sounds accurate, and less harsh than the SoundBlaster.
