I advise you to avoid the Katana at it's current price point. Firstly, the cheap/old style amp used in the Katana causes you to hear an electrical pop whenever the amp turns itself on and off. This is terrible when using it as PC speakers, because your PC doesn't always output an audio signal (As an example, if you were to scrub/click through a Youtube video, you'll hear a pop on your every mouse click). Secondly, when the Katana is connected via an optical source, sometimes, you'll get loud popping/crackling noises. Although this can be fixed by powering the Katana on and off a few times, it's not something that should happen on $200+ speakers. Lastly, the Sound Blaster Connect software is somewhat buggy. Profiles with RGB lighting attached does not switch over properly, when you have the same RGB effect. Center display not auto timing out as it should, when switching profiles. Bottom line, if this is 100 bucks then it'd be okay, but for $200+, it's cheaply designed.

Oliv3Hi,i have the same problem with the popping sounds on youtube videos, really anoying indeed for a 300 euro product, for me the popping is also present, if i start a game, pop,i exit the game pop,i start an mp3,pop,stop music player pop. I found 2 solutions for it: -plug a mic into the microphone jack on the katana,i pluged the only mic i have around,a cheap 1 and the poping was gone. -if u dont have a mic, right click on the speaker icon on the soundbar->select recording devices->right click on microphone->properties->and under the listen tab->check the listen to this device box. Hope this helps.

Oliv3You may want to contact Creative support at https://creative.com/contactus to see if Creative is able to help you on the issues. There are two articles on Creative's support website on crackling sound at http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowArticle.aspx?sid=137430&c http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowArticle.aspx?sid=137460&c
Ensure that there is no ground loop on the connection between the speaker and the computer.
There is a setting on "Dolby Digital" and you may want to try to set it to "Full" and see if it helps.
You may also want to try to run "Command Prompt" as Administrator and enter the command: "bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock" to see if it helps with the popping/crackling sound when playing audio encoded with the Dolby Digital codec.
The opposite of the "Command Prompt" command is "bcdedit /set useplatformclock true" in case there is a problem with the computer.
