I have this. It does exaxtly what it says it does. Works well with included cans, which feel cheap and plastic but they sound better than they have a right to be. Tried it with Dt 880s (600ohm) and its meh. It should work fine for cans with low impedance and IEMs. I have used it with Spotify on a Samsung S9+ and had no issues. Connects via USB C.

spade38I am thinking of buying this, but this review scares me a bit: https://www.headphonesty.com/2018/11/review-creative-super-sxfi-amp/ Apparently the vocals in songs sound like they're performed from inside a tunnel. Did you have this experience? Could it be Bcos the reviewer was testing the unit using a Tia Fourte instead of a Creative/E-Mu headphone.

NaiduIt depends on the recording and the headphones you pair with it. I've had it for a couple of weeks, but have not had a chance to really experiment with it. I did some shorter listening tests with a few of my headphones and settled in on what I liked. It did not sound good with my Grados. It did sound good with my Sony MDRv6's and my Tin Audio T2-Pros (which is I have spent the most time with). I have a couple of other headphones I have not yet tried it with. Yes, some recordings might sound like they are from within a tunnel but for the most part I like the effect. And having a button readily available to turn off the effect makes it really easy to switch to a DAC that sounds pretty great on its own. I don't regret having purchased it.

kwhiteThanks for the reply. It's good that the SFXI feature can be switched off making this "just" a Dac/amp when needed. Might give this a go...
