mjin955So long as you obtain a permit from your local cop shop. They're classified under the same category as crossbows and throwing knives.
Obviously, the best argument one could make is that you're a keen bushman / camper / climber

ProxxiifyYes, definitely get a permit BEFORE trying to import it. It can be done, however it may be difficult. It's not banned outright, however Customs will look at the item and if they think it's designed to be thrown, they will seize it. If you have the paperwork sorted before this happens, you should be good to go.
