Interesting design that do away with the liner or frame metal lock. With the button lock, the whole handle is made of glass-reinforced nylon which reduced the overall weight quite a bit. Definitely another one to add to the collection.
Regarding manufacturing imperfection, this is definitely a knife for someone who enjoy taking thing apart to overhaul the mechanism to bring back the smoothness. I've already taken apart the Brous Blades Caliber and the recent Proelia Knives Tactical Folder and re-lubricated them with great result. I used the Sentry Solutions HI-SLIP GREASE Gun Grease and Gun Oil for re-lubrication.
Cheers!
dtw898I believe they showed steel liners in the vid I posted... unskeletonized too. Still pretty light though; The blade is between the length of a Spyderco Delica and Endura, and weighs in the middle too.
Thanks for the greasing tips though! I've got a Byrd Robin that is REALLY rough and tight to open, no matter how much oil I put on the joint from the outside. Guess I'll just have to take the Robin apart like you did; I'll look up that Sentry Solutions grease.

EvshrugHi Evshrug, I don't think there is a liner inside. You might be looking at the blade (the folder was closed on the video) from the backside. Below is a picture of the inside when the blade is opened.

You'll like the Sentry Solutions grease. You may also want to make sure you don't tighten too much when you put the folder back together. You'll be surprised how a slight turn on the screw driver can make a huge difference. I'll tighten it up to the point where there is no blade play after the blade is released.
Cheers!
dtw898Ah! Thing won't let me edit! But here's another video clearly showing the liners:

EvshrugYou're corrected! Now, I saw the shiny plates inside but I can guess this is a whole lot thinner than if the liner is used as a liner lock; so the weight is still less than if a liner lock is used. Thanks for the clarification!

dtw898I was ready to believe you, after I checked against myself! Anyway I like my CRKT Ripple, which is also a flipper-design with cool styling and IKBS ball-bearing pivot joint. Cool steel, like the opening action, but I don't like the pocket clip and the liner-lock is stiff and clumsy to close with one hand. Here's hoping the Tighe fixes both niggles!

EvshrugWell, since this is a push button release, you may find a stiff push-button instead of a stiff liner-lock. But I heard that with time, the button will become easier to push.
