loveshaSorry, Lovesha, I should have make it more clear. The list they have is a bit confusing. They even mess up my 1st ordered. Let me break it down for you of what they are actually selling. You only get 1 ball for each unit. GL models come with the Glow ball, Red OR Blue. (They didn't put L-Trac Glow "BLUE" on the list) & the pics they show is awful. Here are the items on the list:
1. (BLACK unit)(glow BLUE ball) (2 external switch jacks) ------------------------------ = $119.99 2. (BLACK unit)(glow RED ball) (2 external switch jacks) ------------------------------ = $119.99 3. (BLACK unit)(BLACK ball) ------------------------------------------------------------------- =$101.99 4. (BEIGE unit) (BLACK ball) ------------------------------------------------------------------- =$101.99 5. (BLACK unit) (glow BLUE ball) -------------------------------------------------------------- =$109.99 6. (BLACK unit) (glow RED ball) --------------------------------------------------------------- =$109.99 7. (BLACK unit) (BLACK ball) (2 external switch jacks) ------------------------------ = $111.99 8. (BEIGE unit) (BLACK ball) (2 external switch jacks) ------------------------------ = $111.99 9. (BLACK unit) (glow BLUE ball) (2 external switch jacks) (2 external buttons) ------ = $144.99 10. (BLACK unit) (glow RED ball) (2 external switch jacks) (2 external buttons) ------ = $144.99
You can commit to join will give you "$5" discount.
I am just a consumer, I have "NO" affiliation with Massdrop or CST trackball.

noisyturtlethere are inputs on the body which you can use to add more buttons. CST sells switches which appear to use the same switches as those found on the standard mouse buttons, but you can hack together your own however you wish. I've seen a few with some mech key switches hooked up, and I'm sure there's other options. I believe they are just switches though, and do not allow for analogue input.

noisyturtleSwitch jack looks like a 3.5mm audio port that let you plug in the 2 external buttons from the back of the trackball. (It's "NOT" audio enable) mono plug means 1 ring around the plug, most headphone with mic has 3 rings around the plug. 1 ring is probably just an on/off switch function. With this you can customize a key/function on you mouse/keyboard. For example: people use it as a talk button toggle on/off the mic instead of open mic during gameplay. (like walkie talkie button). I am not sure if you can get any after market buttons/things that can plug in the switch jacks. If you read thru the discussion here, there are some people who didn't get the 2 external buttons. (I am one of them). So they give you a partial refund for the item that you didn't get and you end up with a trackball with 2 external jacks without anything to plug in. This link might be helpful for you to see what this thing looks like from amazon. https://www.amazon.com/CST-S-Button-External-Switch-3-5mm/dp/B01DCR5MTQ/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1515696035&sr=8-5&keywords=cst+trackball+button

phoiblesThey are just switches, correct. I 3D-printed a housing and added keyboard switches to mine. Posted the model on Thingiverse. Anyone who wants to make one can find it by searching CST there.

DaedSo, did you modify the CST switches or did you come up with your own 3.5” jack cable...

UghhAssembled my own. Although it would be super easy to chop down a 3.5mm mono cable, I hate soldering the enameled wire they use in those. I just bought some fine gauge wire and 3.5mm TS plugs from eBay.
